Benedict Philipp is actually from the Philippines. His last name is an abbreviation of Philippines, hence Philipp. It's proven when he sang Bayan K'o in his concert in the Philippines. His solo lyrics were, in Tagalogue:

Ang bayan kong pilipinas

which translates in ...

I listened to the "You Were There fan cover" and I think he's definitely a boy. Unless SHE is a second alto with a wide voice range, then he's definitely a boy.

I think other fans wouldn't be thrilled to but the album just for Bayan Ko as it's not a song that would stick to your mind specially if you don't speak the language . But I think the simplicity of the harmony makes it really good. I especially like the grandioso part towards the end of chorus ...

calling choir gay is absolutely the worst. so ignorant. i think most of the guys have it wrong...in most choirs, don't the girls significantly out number the guys? thas what my older bro says if he's ever hassled about choir. although it rarely happens as he is quite the ladies man. certainly not ...
