Re: Luca Brugnoli

Oh wow! It's really cool that someone from this forum was in attendance at this mini-concert to give us this sort of detailed insight into the latest goings on with Luca. Thank you very much for that! It's also good to hear that Libera is being promoted in this way as that can only be a good thing....

Re: Luca Brugnoli

Luca just put a video of “When You Believe” on YouTube from his concert on 24 June as guest soloist with Dominic Ferris at the Cuckfield Music Festival. I was at this concert, so thought I’d contribute a report (I wrote most of this the day afterwards, but then had a busy week and never got ar...

"San Damiano" on Top of the Pops 1985 (BBC 4 repeat)

This may be of interest to Libera fans in the UK: tomorrow evening (6 Jan) at 1950, BBC 4 is showing a repeat of Top of the Pops from 3 January 1985. According to the programme info, this is the episode that featured Sal Solo singing "San Damiano", backed by a certain London choir. The per...

Re: Schola Cantorum Upcoming Performances

I was fortunate enough to attend the Mahler 8 concert at the RAH (sorry for the length of time this post has taken to appear – I stayed on in London to see a couple of other concerts which fortuitously coincided with the Mahler, but which would be way too far off topic to discuss here). A glorious...

Re: Concert in Ely Cathedral, May 2022

Silly me! Of course the lyrics were in the programme all the time, but it was too dark to read them while the concert was going on, and somehow I didn't think of looking in there when I came to write up my notes. As a thank you for clearing that up, here's a photo I took during the soundcheck. Pity ...

Re: Concert in Ely Cathedral, May 2022

Some scattered and somewhat belated reflections on the Ely concert: My libera day started a little early; I walked into the cathedral in mid-afternoon, while the soundcheck was going on. They ran through the whole programme, but didn't sing the songs in full – they did about a minute's worth of ea...

Re: St John's Smith SQ Christmas Concert 2020 (Dec 6)

I also noticed this ark of songs that you describe and you are right it may not be an accident. :D Thanks for the welcome. Yes, the concert was clearly a big moment for Libera as well as for us; you can hear the relief in Daniel's voice when he gives his speech about "singing together, at last...

Re: St John's Smith SQ Christmas Concert 2020 (Dec 6)

Hello everyone; I've been visiting here for a while and have been interested to read people's reviews of the St John's Smith Square concert, so I thought I would register and offer a few belated thoughts of my own. I don't want to repeat too much of what has already been said, so I'll just put down ...
