I actually like codes of practise better. This new song the lyrics kind of trip over themselves and his voice has a weird accent to it that i personally dont like. First song of his so far that i would not listen to again.Corridor89 wrote:Tom's got another new song up on his page called "Getting over you." It's quite good!

I think it's one of his best. It as a more structured feel to it, like a begining, middle and end. Some of the other songs while still very good, seemed to be a replay on the same verse. There's more variety and variation in this song and I like especially like his low voice at the bit were he sings 'forever'. It's a more complete song.dani wrote:I actually like codes of practise better. On a somewhat related and somewhat unrelated note...
It's been, I think, over a month since I listened to "Peace" the album. Until just now. Interestingly, just as when the preview tracks were first released by EMI thru Opendisc in the days leading to its release, I keep on hitting replay for "Ave Virgo".
I wonder if Libera is ever going to perform this song live in one of their future concerts. If they do, I hope they do it in the Philippines as well and I get to attend it.

Yes, I had been wondering that myself. Ave Virgo is sort of that elephant in the room, isn't it? It's probably one of the (if not THE) fan favorite when it comes to Peace, yet it's the one that is consistently not sung live in concert.
RP has a tendency to space the "legendary" songs, I've noticed. He's never too quick to hand it over publicly to a new boy soon, particularly if it's a song that was written for specific choristers. In part I think it's both for the boy's benefit (ie. the emotional blow) and the public image (ie. to minimize comparison between old and new choristers on the same song). If someone, say, Stefan sang Ave Virgo in concert next week, he'd be on the receiving end of several (well-intentioned but unfortunate) comments like "Wow, you sang that almost as well as Tom!", or even a small handful of less-than-supportive comments from fanatical Tom fangirls.
Certain songs are handed down regularly, like Salva Me and Sanctus, but I imagine it will be a while yet before you hear Ave Virgo live.
Most popular would be " How Shall I Sing That Majesty" lol , its a clear fan favoritebar wrote:phlibera wrote:

I want to hear Ave Virgo but its not an easy song to sing as its basically 1 solo and Robert has tried to stay away from 1 boy doing one song because the boys are still learning it seems. Most boys on this tour was getting 2,3 boys on one solo. So Ave Virgo is out for that simple reason.
Though Stefan or Ralph could sing it, but I also think there is too little time passed to hand it over to a new soloist.dani wrote:I want to hear Ave Virgo but its not an easy song to sing as its basically 1 solo and Robert has tried to stay away from 1 boy doing one song because the boys are still learning it seems. Yep maybe it will be added next year to the set list. If people keep asking for it a lot like with Sancte then it could get added but you need to make it vocal.Murkskis wrote:Though Stefan or Ralph could sing it, but I also think there is too little time passed to hand it over to a new soloist.dani wrote:I want to hear Ave Virgo but its not an easy song to sing as its basically 1 solo and Robert has tried to stay away from 1 boy doing one song because the boys are still learning it seems. Sancte was seen as too diffcult to sing in a concert but enough people asked we got our wish.
Sancte is just another one beautiful and 'deep' song, because it somehow relates to smth like melancholia and longing. Can't describe preciselydani wrote:Yep maybe it will be added next year to the set list. If we talk about what could be added I vote for Voca me - this is a priceless masterpiece as well.

Yep Voca me could be done with such a massive back row now.Murkskis wrote:

Yeah, I agree, it does showcase one soloist. Although, there's that almost-signature Libera harmonies, too, in that song. It's like a song that showcases the things that separate Libera from the other choirs: solo + harmonies + combination of both, without being too much out there (so to speak).dani wrote:I want to hear Ave Virgo but its not an easy song to sing as its basically 1 solo and Robert has tried to stay away from 1 boy doing one song because the boys are still learning it seems.
Anyhow, I just mentioned it here because I was surfing the internet while listening to the album and I really wasn't aware at first that I was doing what I did when the preview tracks were first released.

I think I would travel to anywhere in the world to hear a live performance of Voca Me by those boys. #sigh#Murkskis wrote:Sancte is just another one beautiful and 'deep' song, because it somehow relates to smth like melancholia and longing.
