I thought the choir at St Paul's was better than Westminster, although I was surprised at the size of the St P's choir. I thought they had 30+ Trebles but there were only 16 when I went (plus about 6 none singing probationers).
I asked my friend and this is what he said:

"I counted 24 boy choristers and 12 men which is the usual line up for a "red letter" day. I think for a normal evensong or Eucharist there would be 16 plus 10 men, and for the great feasts the whole of the choir."

The "red letter day" was the feast day of St. Joseph, which was the day that I went. Such feast days are marked in red on the liturgical calender.
so libera will sing for the wedding??

Nope, the thread as been titled a little misleading.

This months issue of Classic FM Magazine reviews all the artists set to perform at the Royal Wedding. We get the day off in the UK, so can't grumble.

Was this mug released the 1st of April ???

edit : after having read a few articles, a possible explaination is that the photo have been chosen on purpose, to have something unusual to be sold.

No thats the joke , its been on that site since March 20th. It is not a joke. Me and my friend pissed ourselves laughing at work today. Its now being sold as a " collectable item" because its such a massive screw up.

As does Westminster Cathedral which is also a Royal Peculiar (which means that it is under the direct authority of the Monarch rather than the Church of England via a Bishop).

That said having heard the choir at the Abbey the same week of the Epsom concert, Libera wins hands down :D
I thought that Westminister Cathedral was Roman Catholic but Westminister Abbey was C of E. IIRC Westminster cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop.
Good catch Tully - I should have spotted that booboo
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

Yes, I would have been very surprised if the choir attributed to the actual Abbey itself wasn't to sing the services Bob ;)

They performed a very good Zadok the Priest for The Queen when she attended the Maundy Service at the Abbey on Thursday. Also it was her 85th Birthday.

Incidently I spent a day in London on Tuesday and they are really ramping up for the wedding. Huge media stands have been built outside Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. There were lots of journalists milling around interviewing people aswell.

First time I've seen the sights aswell. Walked from South Kensington to Tower Bridge and then to St Paul's and back to Hyde Park. London really is a special place. History, heritage and culture almost around every corner! You come to appreciate these factors as you get older.
