As i said in my last post, each to there own. If they want to sell teddys then fine. I personally would not buy one but its a sucessful then good on Libera managerment. I am not telling people not to do this. Its my opinion. Which is why i got annoyed with Paul in his post.tom413 wrote:This debate is similar to the ground we covered yesterday.dani wrote: And if you want to give money then donate money without the choir going down a commercial route which is not becoming of a church choir.
One's perspective can definitely be influenced by how we
perceive the nature of the group.
I think loyal fans can't donate enough money to fund the
organization by themselves.
Therefore in an attempt to entice more revenue out of an indifferent public, selling souvenirs is acceptable to me.
Canada Concerts - April 2011

Wow, I wonder if it's going to be a high mass, which would mean a lot more singing. It would have been nice to attend that mass.dearmadine wrote:Great news for fans who are going to the last Canada concert (Guelph):
"On Easter Sunday we will welcome the "LIBERA" choir from England who will join our choir at the 11a.m. Mass. In the evening they will perform a concert at 7p.m. in our Church."

It was a pleasant read.
"Tim Horton’s – fine Canadian cuisine indeed."

I am assuming they are being sarcastic as i just looked at the menu and its not exactly " fine cuisine" loltom413 wrote:Thanks for the link!phlibera wrote:The first dispatch about their tour is now live in their blog:

Thank you! Ah yes, and everyone could pretend to help me and we could all get at the front...tom413 wrote:Sorry to hear about that. It will make you easy to spot in line however....Rebecca (: wrote:Just found out there's a decent chance I'll be on crutches and in a brace for the concertI find out in a few days from my joint doctor whether I'll have to be on them again, depending on how my foot does. If I do end up needing them, I hope getting around at the concert won't be too difficult... But I'm not going to any sports or dance practice this week to hopefully let it heal in time

Loved their blog! I wonder who wrote it!

Actually, Tim Horton's is quite a Canadian tradition here. It was named for the late Tim Horton, a hockey player who played in the professional National Hockey League (NHL), which is into its playoff season now. Perhaps the boys might catch a playoff game on TV during an evening when they have no concerts or other commitments. With regard to Tim Horton's, there are a couple of catchphrases associated with the franchise. Perhaps any of the members of the group who drink coffee, (adults or choristers) will have learned to ask for "double-double", which is two creams, two sugars, by the end of the tour. That, or if anyone feels like having something from this restaurant during their down time, perhaps some might volunteer to go on a "Timmy run" to get the refreshments (lol)!

Tim Horton's is a national institution in Canada founded by, and named after, one of Canada's famous hockey players. They claim to sell coffee, but what else they put in it is anyone's guess as just about every Canadian (including me) is addicted to the stuff.
There's one just around the corner from the Royal York. When I popped in for a fix on my way back from the St. Andrew's (London)concert there were seven (yes 7) of Toronto's finest enjoying a cup.
In addition to the donuts they do sell a fairly decent sandwich.
Sorry if off topic - but I didn't think it worthy of a new thread.

It sounds like they are managing to have a great time with there time off.
I wonder if they will visit niagara falls?.

I hope "crushed" wasn't the exact word used by whoever conveyed that message. That word to me entails some anguish and a certain amount of crying. It would be so sad if it were true.
I've read AV, the French forum, and some blogs and the universal consensus was that there were difficulties with the lights and sounds in the first concert. I don't see how anyone could be "crushed" with what was written so far.
I don't think anyone involved is deliberately trying to hurt anyone's feelings but since that happened anyway, I'm hoping that we use the information we were given to become more aware before we opine. I thought Lexi did a good job of walking that line in her London review.![]()

Thank you, Tom. I think Lexi is a good writer also. You can feel her enthusiasm for Libera.

This IS a really long thread. Took forever to read it. We're at the Sheraton in Toronto and their Wi-Fi stinks. Keeps logging me off.

Rebecca - It WAS snowing here this morning. Can't guarantee you'll get to see snow, but it's cold and windy so bring a coat. If you're foot still hurts on Friday, we'll take care of you. Can't wait to meet you.

Have really enjoyed seeing all the forum members and other fans from all over the world. Wish you all could be here. Then it would be like a Libera convention. Missing meeting Inna. And Nicki, where are you? You'll be there tonight, right?
Went to the best Filipino restaurant last night. Some may have heard of Max's. The fried chicken literally melts in your mouth. The beef was reeeeaaallly good, too. Had 2 desserts we've never heard of before. One was called halo-halo. Liked it a lot. Did not realize there are 400,000 Filipinos living in Toronto! The place was packed!
Looking forward to tonight's concert!

If it is the topic of creating merchandise, I would like to help you. That's part of my job. I have many ideas and connections to the industries in Europe and Asia.dani wrote:Am i the only one who thinks them selling soft toys at concerts would be totally tacky?
There are more articles than just t-shirts and teddy bears. Textiles you can order in Asia. Creative toys such as puzzles, games, pictures to paint are manufactured in Europe. Ceramics such as mugs or cereal bowls, leather products, such as scrapbooks for CDs, pictures and personal memories .... there are much more ideas. Of course, the obligatory t-shirt, scarf, cap, banner, Plush Toy, doll, etc. .. should not be missing. Each product must bear the original logo "LIBERA". Is there an official logo?
If this is to be sold with a profit, then you need a high number of pieces per item. More than 1000 pieces minimum. Who will take the risk?
But you are right, it's not the topic for this thread.
