The flight is cheaper but I would have to leave a day earlier which means an extra night in a hotel + with the cost of getting to Blackpool + the added time it doesn't really add up - the flight from Leeds Bradford is only about £30 each way but by the time you add on 'on line booking fees', credit card charges and 'on line check in' (which is half the cost of checking in at the airport - I kid you not, they add on a fee to check in and it isn't optional. Just add it in to the ticket price FFS. I mean how can we fly without checking in?).
To go or not to go? I must say, there doesn't seem much interest from the fans for this one and I kind of can't help but wonder if that was part of the plan.
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.
Good news is, I can fly from my local airport just 10 minutes away from me. They only started flights earlier this year. Total for flights "Return is £42.0
Bad news is, I have no more holiday allocation this year so all 4 concerts will be out of the question.
So that will be one more less in the queue.
Never mind, there will be other concerts
Enjoy guys.

I really want to go but even i am in two minds. It is slap bang in the middle of the Olympics which is once in a life event so do i want to be away then?!
Plus it would involve a fair bit of money if i do all 4 concerts and stay in Jersey for the whole Libera stay.

What about renting just bikes ?
And apparently there is very good bus system there
I'm looking also about coming by plane. it's about 300 € return from Paris, with a stop in Southampton, and 3 hours long.
Going by train + boat from Granville or Saint Malo would cost me quite the same and would be much more long and complicated.
Can I suggest a cheaper option FDL.
Eurostar to London, then train from London Liverpool street to London Southend airport. My local airport. Easyjet offer flights return from £44

Accommodation is quite expensive and limited - it wouldn't be cheap to do all four. There was some mention elsewhere of certain boys talking about having tickets for Olympic events - do we know which ones because I assume they won't be on tour!

I have that bottle of super hot chilli sauce for you Paul - if you dare!
Well I cannot loose face, so bring on the chilli for my burger next time we meet at Sports bar

Limited supply of automatics on the islands. If I go, I would get a car at LHR and take the ferry from Poole. Ferry doesn't cost much more than flying and it would be much more convenient to keep the same vehicle for the whole trip.
John, just a thought but will the rental company let you take the car out of the UK? I kind of doubt they will let you take it on the ferry to be honest.

That is also true. Are you still planning to do all 4?
I may do a couple and then bail out. Too do all 4 seems a bit ott when tickets can be £25/30 a pop. And its the same concert over and over.
