Thinking about the promises made, the huge concerts with massive numbers of tickets to be given away it makes me wonder about the health of the person who made the promises.

The Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, Ohio, still has Libera up on their main page as slated for April 3rd. When I click for more information, it says "Sunday, April 3rd at 3:00 PM". I don't remember a specific cancellation message from Libera, but I don't think it's been confirmed, either. So go figure.

I think it's a safe bet that Libera would not come to the US just for one concert in a remote part of Ohio; and at the moment there are no other concerts. Also, since it was scheduled at around the same time period as all of the concerts that ended up being cancelled, I think it's a safe bet that this one is not to be either.

That was my thinking. It's just odd that this many months later it would still be up on what appears to be a well kept site for a fairly busy venue. I wonder if it "slipped through the cracks" and JR forgot to cancel it?Surpinto wrote:I think it's a safe bet that Libera would not come to the US just for one concert in a remote part of Ohio; and at the moment there are no other concerts. It's odd that the Niswonger Performing Arts Centre has not removed the April 3rd concert and appears to be selling tickets. With a concert apparently booked in South Korea on the same date, it would appear that the lads have somehow been double booked (oops). I would imagine as well that the U.S. date would be removed, as long as the Libera staff are aware that it is still on the hall's website.

I know. I don't think this has ever happened before.labbie wrote:It's odd that the Niswonger Performing Arts Centre has not removed the April 3rd concert and appears to be selling tickets. Agreed...It's very strange that this concert is still being advertised. The latest listing even goes as far as naming the sponsorslabbie wrote:It's odd that the Niswonger Performing Arts Centre has not removed the April 3rd concert and appears to be selling tickets. Do you think it's possible that Libera could be splitting into two touring groups, as the Vienna Boys' Choir does? It doesn't seem likely--Libera isn't that big, and there is only this one concert scheduled in the U.S. in a small town-- but it also seems unlikely that so large a mixup could have lasted this long.JimmyRiddle wrote:Agreed...It's very strange that this concert is still being advertised. No chance. I think this might be another example of things getting a 'bit muddled' on the US side of things.alcesalcesobservator wrote: Do you think it's possible that Libera could be splitting into two touring groups, as the Vienna Boys' Choir does? #edit# I've since emailed a few people to point out this concert is still 'live' and it has been confirmed that it won't be happening & they'll get this sorted out.

Well now it's official. I just got a message from the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wirt, Ohio that the Libera concert of April 3 is cancelled. They are substituting a concert by the American Boy Choir on April 10. I hope I can get my money back since while I'm willing to make the three hour trip to see Libera, I don't want to for the other group.

This is the first time I can remember this happening. A video was posted by Libera announcing their regret
at not being able to go to Ohio.

Well, that's a nice thought; somebody is really starting to get a grip on PR at Libera HQ. Of course it doesn't make up for the cancellation but it shows they care.tom413 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yprvvaP ... e=youtu.be

Right. It's a real shame the concert was canceled, after being on the venue site for so long, and tickets even being sold. It's like it fell through the cracks. Something was weird with the whole John Rexford thing, so many grandiose ideas and so little follow through... but hopefully that's behind us, now. Posting the video was a nice bit of PR, though a 20 second clip of them singing "Yankee Doodle" would have been just as effective (and more interesting) than the whole video of "America the Beautiful".

Where did they post this? Did they send it out to ticket holders?tom413 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yprvvaP ... e=youtu.be

Ticket holders did receive the link. It was also available in a press release published in the local paper.
