What I meant by this was that two of the 20-25 people that I talked with were just way bigger fans than I'm used to. One male and one female. Knowing almost all of the boys birthdays and such just seemed a little odd to me. Using "creepy" was completely the wrong word. I did not mean to say that these fans were there for anything other reason than their love of the music. I do apologize since I did offend some of the people here.

I myself a single male who went to the two LA area concerts. I know for a fact that plenty of my co-workers think it was odd of me to fly 2000 miles just to see a boys choir.

I will not post anymore on this subject since we do not know the reason(s) behind the cancelation of the Meet&Greets

On page 2, also at about half the lift heigh, comments on the concert.
On page 3, a few photos.

My camera and mysefl have poor photographic capacity, you will surely found much better photos from other peoples than me....

I will certainely do comments next week on the Edinburgh Concert.
Thank you so much for the wonderful reports and pictures of the Celtic Tour, enjoy the concert in Edinburgh and let us know how it goes.

It might not be the male fans who are the problem.

In the videos of the Crystal Palace meet and greet there was a woman in dark slacks and purple top who appears to have been wandering around getting herself into situations where she had a chance to bump into the boys from behind and get in a quick pet on their heads or shoulders. I don't know if anyone noticed this, but it might have given someone in the Libera organization reason to give the idea of having the boys mix with the crowd a second thought.

It's also possible that the people in charge of the Irish venue thought that a meet and greet with young boys would be a bad idea at this time considering recent Irish events.

Arundel there was no meet and greet either.

I dont like Mini Ben on Faw Away as dont think he has a powerful voice. A lot like Josh in that respect its softer. So i think Secret will be prefect for him. Do we know what version of Ave Maria Liam sung ? is it the one that Tom did on New Dawn?

So annoying i really want to do Scotland but it would cost me about £150 . If i could do it for half that cost i would go . So gutted.

I think that Mini-Ben would sound good doing "Secret" since his voice is softer and not as powerful as some of the other boys'. I enjoy his version of "Far Away" even though I think Michael H's version was the best as the song suited his voice perfectly! And I have not heard the new soloist on the high chorus part so I cannot comment there, but Tom's version was wonderful.

There will always be a section of society that will spoil it for the rest of the genuine people who attend with the best of intentions. A lone male attending a Libera concert should not be made to feel guilty for doing so. Are they not allowed to appreciate and feel affected by the music the boys sing, than any other section of society?

Maybe the guy just wanted to be friendly, and saw your dad on his own so thought he would approach him to have a conversation. It's a normal thing to do after a concert, you just want to talk about what you've seen. Then after realising that he was there with his daughter, didn't want to feel he was intruding.

It's not always healthy to view situations from such a dark and sinister perspective.
Amen to this.
I am an older male and I am a Libera fan. I will not allow older men who enjoy their music to pigeon-holed into being stalkers. I have been asked to un-officially help moderate this board and I find this kind of discrimination intolerable.
I like all kinds of good music, whether it be rock&roll or treble choir music. That makes me nothing other than fan of music. I am the assistant teacher in my church's youth class. Does that make me a weirdo?
I am sorry they chose to stop the meet & greets but that is their choice, Don't blame it on us single older adult males.
Well, I'm off to Edinburgh so I'll report back if I see any dodgy looking single older males.

....hang on; just realised I'll have to report myself!

Don't beat yourself up about it mate, I think we know what you mean :D Sadly, for as many nice and normal people as there are in the world we all have to acknowledge that there are some creepy people out there (old, young/male,female, what have you). Personally I dare not admit to anybody that I like Libera because I know the reaction I'll get.

I'd be happy to give it a try, but to be honest I could only recognise the more famous lads - all these new ones are beyond me! And before anybody asks, I have no idea when any of their birthdays are

So a few people on here are going then to Edinburgh ? i am so jealous lol. I honestly dont get why travling in this country is such a rip off. £91 return from London to Edinburgh when i looked. How can train companys justify such stupid prices.

Also going by myself it would be a boring jouney but i would do it to see Libera but for a day out times i have also got concert ticket and food i am looking at £150 .

You should have checked out flights. When I was looking a couple of months back I could have got a return flight from Manchester for £43 (and that was £2.43 for the flight there, £0.00 for the flight back with the rest being tax and surcharges!).

Hi all

Long time since my last post.
I also was in Dublin. This time my two younger girls joined me, or I've rather attended them. (The older one was already in London. She actually took the pictures that are labeled with my name in the gallery meanwhile I made some video shots (http://www.libera-dreams.com/videos.php ... &view=misc)).

We've really enjoyed that concert in the second row of the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

I think the sound was much better and fuller than in QEH. For sure the live orchestra did his important part.
The concert was performed in cooperation with that orchestra.
The price for the live sound was that there where less songs of Libera instead of instrumental pieces.

The performance of the boys was extraordinary again.

Tom has changed back to the seocond row because his voice changed
definitively. I've heard him talking when he was getting on the bus.
Of course his countenance seemed to be not too happy during songs like Far Away and You Where There .

After that brilliant concert I wanted to take some pictures from the mixing console. Accidentally we met Liam meeting his relatives in the empty hall. He affirmed that there will be no signing meeting. The concert ended after 22:00. As I have read in a other forum they had to return to Belfast.

We took the chance to wait for them at the stage door.
They only let in relatives.

After some material was stowed in the bus the boys have left the building and got on the bus immediatelly. Taking pictures was virtually impossible because of the heavy rain.

I did some video recording of the waiting bus. I'm going to present it as soon as my iMac allows it :? (After the last cuts he isn't willing to play that movie again...)

I'll keep you up to date.

Cheers
Urs

P.S.:Concerning the broadcasting of the recorded concert I know that there is in minimum one member of the forum from Dublin. I will ask him to follow the program of RTÉ.

Thank you, Urs, I also read somewhere that Tom looked a little grumpy. I guess that it is normal, it is not easy to try to adjust to something you have no control of. I am proud of him though.

Yes I imagine it would be difficult for Tom to adjust to singing the lower parts in the songs he has been singing the treble parts on for years, and soloing as well. His first solo was in 2002, and he has had many, many wonderful solos since then. It would be difficult to not be singing the songs he used to for so long, such as, I imagine, "Always With You", "Far Away", "Going Home" etc., and even more recent solos, like "You Were There" and "May the Road Rise Up" as I heard these solos all went to new and/or different boys. But I'm so glad that he is remaining with Libera to keep singing the low notes that add to Libera's rich and beautiful sound!
