He done a good job on time, but I think Josh was the star performer on that, although I don't dislike Exsulate, its not at the top of my playlist.

I would like to see Ben perform O Sanctissima. Its one of his better solo's in my book.

But thats just my opinion.

As a Libera newbie, i'm still trying to put all the songs/solo's to faces, i've got more than a couple of decade's of Libera / St Philips to catch up on. Ill let you know in a year or so.

Not at the rate you play their albums! We all like different stuff, but anything they do that is or is near a cappella is near the top of my list. I'm in a minority with The Lamb but Ben's voice is just perfect for it. I think it isn't well liked because it is more traditional choral rather than 'Libera style'.

Me too, but weirdly enough I'm quite partial to the very first two St Philip's albums (as opposed to the three Angel Voices ones).

What other odd songs do you like besides The Lamb?

One song i have been listening to recently is " Dies Irea " and its so catchy and uptempo it should be sung in concernts. Its got a very young Steven G so with so many young boys it could be sung.

Although the concerts in Bristol and Chester didn't sell out, the Beverley concert had a great turn-out and the Celtic tour concerts during the summer of 2009 were also well attended. I feel Libera must perservere with their mission to take their music to different locations within the UK. Naturally they will stage more concerts in London and the South East within close distance of their families and friends but I'm sure they will benefit in the long term by reaching out to the whole of the UK audience and traveling to other great churches and cathedrals spread across the country.

...and to get back on topic - I would love it to be Exsultate next Sunday. Something upbeat and jolly would go down a treat.

There is so much great venues in UK !! What about a concert in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral RC, on in the great Wells's Cathedral ?

I agree Jimmy - keep going with new places but keep with the tried and tested. Re Exsultate - dani spoke to somebody at Bristol who #might# be connected to the inner circle that suggested the second SOP song was O Sacti.

I agree St Philips first two CD's are wonderful pieces, I would not say that any of Libera's / St Philips are dated myself, probably because I'm fairly new to Libera's music.

Do I change my mind because it was mentioned on here and I listened to it, no! Maybe its something that will grow on me, like a lot of Libera's music has.

Glad you enjoyed Bristol, Chester and Beverley F_D_L - the UK does have some nice places, unbelievable as that may be to a Frenchman And I also agree that new places are good, but tradition isn't bad either. We Rosbifs like to start a tradition that we can keep going for a thousand years - makes us comfortable a bit of tradition does.
