Here is a singer I really like. This song is the first single from his new album Illuminations. He has a great voice, great musical talent, is very funny on stage and really cares about his fans and his music. He also has his own modest foundation focused on efficient, underfunded organizations benefiting children in need around the world through contributions to the arts, education and healthcare. Anyway, he is a great pleasure to hear and watch. Enjoy :)

This might be posted around here on another thread, if so my apologies. I was on the BBC Radio 3 website looking for a programme on the Monteverdi choir when I came across a clip from the Choir Of The Year 2010 finals held at the Royal Festival Hall last November.

I think it's worth posting if you missed it (I think it is also on the French forum but I honestly didn't view that thread).

Wow ! Thank you for posting it, Yorkie :D
They perform 3 splendid songs !
I liked the first the most though.

Another thing- I noticed they also really enjoyed singing and when they were talking about what motivates them to sing ... passion and fun 8) And the choir director also mentioned the social factors like friendship :D (is it fellowship again ? ) Well when you combine it with initiative, skills and whatever- they got the first class results. Just as Libera do 8)

Why I'm talking about it- it's the passion that sometimes runs this world and that makes me happy and excited. I just love this anywhere I see it :D

P.s. This choir was mentioned somewhere on French forum (I also read it sometimes, however, not every day  ), but this video is a new one for me. So- thanks again for sharing.

I remember watching it at the time it was aired. Love the last performance with the roleplay. They are directed very well, as their timing is spot-on.

Another amazing find, Yorkie :)

You know Warwick is one of the few towns in England that I've actually been to visit. My friends and I stopped there to see Warwick Castle in 1983. Lovely town and I really liked it there.

This choir director clearly enjoys what he does and his boys are certainly an enthusiastic crowd! I wish we had more boy choirs in the states, but they are pretty rare.

1983  How old are you?

The good news is that the food has improved greatly since those days. We now have something called 'McDonalds' which serves really wonderful food. Oh, and Pizza Hut for genuine Italian grub.

Oh my word, what was that?! Doesn't America produce the best and brightest?! I'm crying laughing so hard.

Oh, and the best food, too, eh?

That was certainly...interesting. Still, I give the group credit for putting themselves out there and trying something different, singing songs that aren't normally sung by older groups. Also, as long as they are having fun and making music together, I guess the sound doesn't matter so much. The feeling of camaraderie that comes with being in a choir is so great.
