The York Minster version of Toccata was also very interesting.
''Toccata In D Minor Black Dyke Band'' was quite a surprise- not dramatic at all. High tempo composition and well deserved applause in the end.I like them, and a new find for me.

Incidentally, I'm going to see the Amsterdam Staff Band of the Dutch Salvation Army next Sunday I've only ever seen them play a couple of songs on a poetry festival and this will be my first time ever that I will see a proper concert of a brass band

I've seen the Black Dyke Band live they were great of course, but I thought Brighouse and Rastric gave a slightly better peformance when they performed a concert in Saddleworth last year. Speaking of which, The Whit Friday Brass Band Contests held annually, the first Friday after Pentecost (seven weeks after Easter) is internationally recognised as 'Brass Band heaven' I've been a few times and it seems to be more popular than the last time.

I've never forgiven them for Floral Dance Jimmy Grimethorpe is another good one, but a bit further for me than Black Dyke or B&R. You introducing yourself on Friday?
