Hi, today we (my "wife" and our friend) bought flights to London. Wed-Mon. Friend is going first time to London and she can't wait the concert. And Fri evening we are goint to see Billy E. (I have seen it many times). Tickets we bought too. But what to do extra time; we have to show London to our friend...And the hotel is booked too.

I'm staying in the eurotraveller hotel at old kent road. The area might not be the best but there is good public transport and the hotel is cheap, clean and basic. Just what i'm looking for to go on a city trip like this. Plus, i've stayed there before and I know the place.

edit: oh yeah there is a big tesco supermarket nearby for breakfast on-the-go

Being a Widower now after my Wife passed away in June, I thought I'd be giving this one a miss as I didn't fancy attending alone. There's the added emotion of the Guildford concert in May being the last time we enjoyed a night out together. However my son has gallantly agreed to accompany me - no small sacrifice for someone who manages a heavy metal rock group in his spare time! So fingers on the keyboard for some premium tickets next week!

I'm staying at the Best Western Victoria Palace but all the cheap single rooms look to have gone I'm afraid. The Travelodge in Southwark (maybe a bit less than a mile from St George's) seems available - double room from £72 if paid in advance. Seems to be well rated on Tripadvisor.

#edit# Actually, Dani posted the Travelodge at Waterloo on another thread and that is very close to St George's and just a few quid more:

A Christmas concert in Advent... hmmm... even though it's Libera... My initial reaction to that is: it's too early!
Off to bed now though, so I'll sleep on it.

Forestdweller, I hope you and your son will have a special time together.

It is indeed very basic, but clean. I will be there now for the fourth time in November.

Oohh its getting close to the ticket sale time, I have just noticed that this Ticketsource appears to be a Do It Yourself ticket sales site and so i am wondering who will answer at the end of the phone number given?!. I will not be able to book online tomorrow so my only option is by phone. It might be Mr Prizeman himself!

Super efficient online service from Ticketsource. Three premium tickets secured and printed at 1403.
See you there.

Looks like all premium seats were gone within the first 4 minutes! I got my 2 tickets OK, but that was a nerve racking few seconds after the booking site went live :)

Wow, they went fast. :D I got worried for a bit when the website seemed to freeze for a while during the booking process and I could see from another computer that the premium tickets had already sold out. But turns out it was fine, everything worked well and I have to say that printable tickets are a great improvement.

I guess I have no choice but to come to London in November now.

I completely agree forest. This is the first time I secured everything else (plane, hotel) ahead
of my concert ticket. Would have been bad news to miss out.

Thanks a lot to choirfan for his reminder last night about when tickets went on sale!
I had my times mixed up and had I not double checked then I would have been out
of luck.
