That would be cool!
Your suggestion brought to mind a different Latin American song called "La Golondrina". Do you think that would work for them? I have seen it arranged for solo soprano singers, choirs, and even jazz bands.
TullyBascombe wrote:True, but the "Last of the Mohicans" sounds like it was literally written to be the overture to a movie.
"May It Be" would be good, so would "Gabriel's Oboe / On Earth As In Heaven" from "The Mission."
I'd like to hear them sing "El Condor Pasa."
I second those suggestions! And okay, maybe replace Last of the Mohicans with Highland Cathedral
Might be cool if they did a Scottish theme someday, like they did an Irish song with Danny Boy.

Highland Cathedral would need to have some words added, Maybe something along the lines of:
"We're happy to have you Scotland, please stay for awhile.
Having you around makes our PM smile.
If you should leave it would surely make him cry.
Why, oh why would you want to bring bitter tears to his eyes?"
Please Mr. Prizeman get in touch with this guy! It would be the best combination of heavenly music... Libera's singing voices and Asher Quinn's songwriting skills...

I was listening to the US concert given by King's earlier this year (well worth a listen HERE and the Encore really caught my attention - would it suit Libera do you think?
There are some versions on YouTube but not with a Treble line:

If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.
I think that would be interesting to hear these songs as songs from Libera:
1. You were there (this is for quite low voices, but...)
2. In Christ alone
3. Mary did you know?
or A cappella
4. The Golden City
Some of popular christian songs, for example, from Hillsong or Chris Tomlin, or Michael W. Smith. I think that most of these songs isn't in Libera style, but maybe it is to make these song in this style
When I was young "I sing a song of the saints of God" was a standard for children's church school and children's choir. I'd like to hear Libera sing it.

Sometimes I think I should believe in telepathy. A few days ago I heard a song by Enya for the first time and immediately I thought that it would fit Libera so well. So I was planning to ask a similar question in the German forum (and still do), and right now this older thread which I hadn't yet discovered, was "activated" again. So this is my answer:
I love Libera to sing their own songs. If they never sang anything else than songs composed by Robert Prizeman or a (former) Libera member, I would be completely satisfied. However, if there has to be an existing song which then can be arranged for Libera, this is the song I mentioned (at the moment I've got only one suggestion): Athair Ar Neamh.
"But in the dark and cold of things there always, always something sings"
That is beautiful, filiarheni! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I can totally hear Libera sing this with an arrangement by Robert. I wonder what the lyrics are about.

There appear to be a number of translations from the Gaelic. Google has plenty of information:
Athair ar Neamh - Father in Heaven
Version 1:
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Father in Heaven, God bless me
My soul, my heart, my glory,
praise to you, God.
Long is the peaceful day
Long is the night without gloom
Delight, joy, love,
praise to you, God.
I glorify you day after day.
I glorify you night after night.
Father in Heaven, God bless us
Father in Heaven, God bless me
The moon, the sun, the wind,
praise to you, God.
Version 2
Father in Heaven, God help us.
Father in Heaven, God help me.
My soul, my heart, my voice
praise to you, oh God.
Long is the day, and peaceful,
long is the night without gloom,
happiness, joy, love,
praise to you, oh God.
I praise you from day to day.
I praise you night after night.
Father in Heaven, God help us.
Father in Heaven, God help me.
The moon, the sun, the wind,
praise be to you, oh God.

Tadhg took over the Gaelic part in Wexford Carol but given that none of them speak Latin (or any of the other languages that they sing in on tours) I don't think it would be an issue for them to sing it.
