The last bit is up!
LiberaUSA(Kevin) has put up the last bit. Your going to want to start with part 3 because that is where RuperJones's videos leave off and then go to part 4!!!

I haven't seen it yet, for reasons I've already mentioned elsewhere but what I gather from what I've read here is that this is a typical documentary. Documentaries rarely ever show a complete performance of a song but do lots and lots of outtakes and behind the scenes shots. It is a shame they left Steve and Big Ben out of the picture.

It's great! Thanks for uploading! The front part where they showed the boys in their normal clothes and having a blast! Somehow I wish I could be one of them! Haha. They seem to be engaging in all sorts of activities and definitely having lots of fun! Oh, and when they are singing Tallis Canon, I see Steven among the orchestra and he's playing the clarinet! I think. Oh, I didn't know that the first part of Sancte was sung by Tom! Cool.

Thanks for posting the entire video on the home page, Kevin. :D It's especially nice for those of us on the other side of the pond who otherwise wouldn't be able to see it.

I particularly enjoyed listening to the parent's comments about their boys being in Libera, though I had to laugh at the 28:00 mark when mini-Ben seemed to have trouble keeping a straight face when his father (?) was talking.

I was also glad to see some of my favorite song - Sancte - towards the end of the program, though I was surprised to see Tom singing the solo part of Sancte since the New Dawn CD shows Liam as the soloist. I suppose RP has more than one boy prepared for each solo part?

A very well done documentary, in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing.

Regards,
Rich

I've always suspected that even though he wasn't credited in the cd, Tom was the one who sang the first solo in Sancte. It sounds too much like him (although Liam sometimes sounds like Tom, too).

I've heard from my friend and "informed source" today. He is making me a copy of the show and sending it to me. I should have it by the weekend. Or early next week. Depends on the speed of the post and whether he sends it 1st class or not. :D :D :D

Glad to hear that. This is a Libera-fan must-have. Though it's too short, the content is a lot!

For those of you who have not yet had an opportunity to see the Songs of Praise special, I have copied the program fact sheet as issued by the BBC.

Songs of Praise factsheet for Sunday 25 January 2009
Songs of Praise Libera
Presented by Aled Jones

General:
Aled Jones meets Libera - the South London 'Boy Band' who have sung for His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, and whose many fans include the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson! From classic hymns to pop, the group's high notes and heavenly harmonies have made them a global hit in both the classical and mainstream charts.

Producer: Rowan Morton Gledhill

Interviews:
Boys Interviewed from Libera:

Ben and his dad, Steven
Tom and his mum, Tracey
Josh and his dad, Ken
Ed
Liam and his dad, Tim
Callum
Sam

Brian Wilson
Founder member of The Beach Boys, he composed the song 'Love and Mercy' which Libera have 'covered'. The group performed it for him at the 2007 Kennedy Centre Awards in Washington DC, where Brian was receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mark Prouse
Works for the RNIB. Blind since childhood, Mark's difficult commute to work by London Underground is made more bearable by listening to Libera on his specially-adapted MP3 player (just one of the many technological gadgets developed by the RNIB for use by blind and partially-sighted people). As a Christian, Mark finds the words and the music give him time for contemplation and deepening his relationship with God.

Is this exactly the same as the video posted here on this website? The video segment here is 34 minutes long, the 4 parts posted by Rupert add up to about the same.
