This is 10 hours after the tickets sale open.

181 seats are booked and 111 remain available.

Everybody loves a Christmas concert with Libera
Clearly! :D That and their annual tradition to sing there likely attracts a lot of repeat interest - not to mention the boy's families who are in the London area.

Strange that the ticket situation is so much better than what is currently happening in Chester, where not even half the tickets have been sold. :(

It is odd, given that I had the impression that Chester was quite a popular destination for those in their golden years. (I know, because my mother went there last year.)

I feel like you could target a few of those tour groups, and that demographic, and fill the cathedral instantly... but perhaps it's more complicated than that.

I find it hard to believe your mother is anywhere close to her golden years, but aside from that, those senior tours may be the "all expenses paid" kind where folks are loathe to spend anything extra.

Perhaps a short preview concert at a shopping center or other well-traveled place might generate some interest.

Libera would be well advised to open both of their sound checks to the public (or rather: the Cathedrals should remain open during the sound checks). Like it was the case with their first Ely concert in 2017, which certainly attracted some spontaneous "decision makers".

Plus we can smuggle some flyers out of the church and leave them anywhere in the town, whereever you can deposit them to spread some last-minute advertising! I did so in Arundel in 2019.

Rehearsal was open at Chester 2010 concert.

Very likely it will be the same this year, as well as for Lincoln.
The cathedrals sale tickets for the visit and therefore they will remain open.

If they’re still there by Christmas, those concerts will likely be the last time Freddie M and Daniel perform in the white robe of Libera. Same for Jack and Ludwik. They then go on to the alumni, and unlike a decade ago the alumni rarely come back to perform regularly (with the exception of Nathaniel for the past two Christmases, and Dominik on the US tour).
Hopefully there won’t be a shortage of Bigs next year if they can encourage a few recent alumni to return.

I still think they should give Cadogan Hall a go one Xmas. It has more seats, and with a rake on them, so those further back will get a better view. CVMS did their 40th Anniversary concert there and it's just a stop away from Victoria.

But anyway, I'm delighted for them that they have sold out the stalls already. I wonder if SSS have any other artists that sell out so quickly?

I may have a spare ticket. Coming from the US, travel is really rough and expensive given that it's Thanksgiving weekend. A friend was going to go with us but can't stomach the flight expense. I will dm you once I get confirmation.

So now the Japan Tour is over, we can look forward to London in 3 weeks' time.

What are people's expectations on the set list and it being December, are we going to get more Christmas songs and will Lullay or Resurrectio make the concert set list ?

I would sure hope that Lullay is on the program. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever featured on a Libera album, and it's not that difficult. Resurrectio seems almost tailor-made for a Libera concert, so I'm sure it will feature in a concert eventually. I just wonder if they're ready to perform it at this concert or if they will wait until next year.

With such a short lull period between the Japan tour and the Christmas concert, I think they're going to largely keep the same set list, with some seasonal-related changes:

(1) Twilight
(2) Sanctus
(3) Far Away In the Bleak Midwinter
(4) Stay With Me Ding dong Merrily on High
(5) Salva Me
(6) Seabird
(7) The Lark's Last Song
(8) Always There
(9) Ave Maria (RP) When I am Laid in Earth (Dido’s Lament)
(10) Voca Me
(11) Music Was Born
(12) Veni Sancte Spiritu
(13) One Small Voice
(14) Sacris Solemnis
(15) Love Shine a Light Do You Hear What I Hear
(16) Once (Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence)
(17) For the Future Carol of the Bells
(18) Angel Resurrectio Walking in the Air
(19) Happy Xmas (War is Over)
(20) I am the Day
(21) Sing for our World
Encore: I Saw Three Ships

I would love for Rutter's 'Donkey Carol' or 'Candlelight Carol' to feature in Libera's Christmas concert, but I guess it's a bit of a pipe dream.
