That version of "500 Miles" was originally a British Pop song wasn't it? I'm just wondering - is it possible to walk 500 miles in Great Britain. I mean without turning around and heading back to where you came from.
(There's an old American folk song called 500 miles too.)

When I saw he was singing "500 miles" in the program, I originally thought it was the folk song, which was made popular by Peter, Paul, and Mary back in the 60's. (Of which I know all the lyrics and have sung it numerous times around a campfire) The "500 miles" George sings was from the Scottish band: the Proclaimers and hit the charts back in 1988.
Tully, if you're drunk or get lost, it should be easy to walk 500 miles and 500 more just to be the man who walks 1000 miles to fall down at your door.

"The true joy of life is the journey. Don't become obsessed with calculating the steps to achieve goals. Instead, eat more ice cream, go barefoot more often, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less, and enjoy the presence of the people around you."
