Joseph got the solo with Oscar and Theo(?) flanking him and supporting him in parts. It was a lovely performance and good to see where the choir is at since December.


ETA- how old is Joesph as his voice has matured and he sounds even better than before?

Nearer My God is one of my favourites.

I’m watching live and my goodness, Joseph’s voice is maturing fast. He’s starting to sound a bit like Freddie sounded 2 years ago - what Italians often call “dark”.

So glad to hear Theo and Oscar too.

Still no sign of Oskar or Lewis Q. Everyone from the Christmas concert (apart from the Bigs) seems to be present.

P.S I think Cameron is gonna match Ben C for height when he’s done growing!

Thomas M was still singing treble in his other choir a couple of weeks ago so I think he’s just back there because of his age. Theo was at the back for most of Libera’s performances last year despite still being a treble.

Not sure about Morgan, though. But Cameron will definitely have moved into the tenor range now because he was very close at Christmas. So I’d guess Cameron makes up the current Bigs alongside Mitchel, Nathan, Freddie H, and Thomas S-H.

Thought I would watch the full program to get some context not watched SoP for ages, and there was quite a moving piece about the boxer who lost his son, the presenter was in tears.

Nice for Libera to be involved with Songs of Praise again after the parting of the late RP, good to see the connections are still strong.

Edit: I've not got the capturing device I used to have to record such programmes, but so much becomes available now, I don't think those who haven't seen it will have to wait much longer.

I cried in that segment too. I actually remember the story of Kiyan. Knife crime is a huge problem in London and successive governments have failed to adequately tackle it. But there are people, like the gentleman in that segment, who are working very hard to provide young boys especially with other outlets for their energy and natural aggression.

Very much looking forward to Libera’s subsequent performances on SOP this spring after that brilliant start.

He turned 12 in December, but his vocal transformation has been rather dramatic. Of course, we're just going by how he chose to sing this particular solo. It doesn't mean he will sound like that on everything. I hope his voice doesn't break too quickly.

I don't find Joseph's voice very different from before (last album and Christmas concert). Also I think the high parts on the last verse are still Joseph's work, so, a fine treble voice !

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Oscar being pretty good he looks confident and their voices match really well. It is good to see him grow into a fine soloist. Joseph is perfect as always, and good to see Theo there, though I wish we would hear him better.

Thank you for posting the video!!! It was a beautiful performance and great to see the kids growing mature and stronger in their talent. But wait- there’s more!! Hope we get to see the other three songs that was taped.
I will miss the May event but hope to hear about a summer tour. In the meantime, looking forward to shiny new reports in May. So enjoy, lucky ones with tickets!!!

I agree Oscar is excellent. He blends beautifully with Joseph and he looks and sounds very confident. He's also grown - I almost didn't recognise him.

I think it would be live though potentially multiple takes.

4 videos? I think I'm missing something? Where have people learned this, please?
