Sorry, sorry, it's just that I really like Libera's music and enjoy being able to "talk" about it with other people that also like their music. :oops: None of my family or friends like choral music and so it's so interesting to be able to interact (as it were) with other people who also appreciate this type of singing.
I'm only teasing :lol: and I agree with you all about being able to talk about our secret passion. But ladies if you find it tough to admit to liking Libera just think how hard it is for us blokes. Basically, if anybody found out we'd be lynched by mobs of hate filled parents convinced we were up to no good......

Yorkie I couldn't stop laughing when you posted that. I know exactly how you feel about telling people that you like Libera but I do it anyways those close minded people can think whatever they want of me. I dont care. None of my family except my mother likes Libera.

As soon as I found out about Libera I purchased the Angel Voices DVD. Then when I was in California cute little James Mordaunt was walking around during the M&G with a basket that had their CD and DVD in it he said if I bought one he would sign it. and since it's so hard to say no to Dimples I had to buy one. So now I have two DVD and I keep my signed one at home but I take the cover off of the other one and loan it out to relatives and friends that way they don't know what it is. about 75% of the time when I get it back they ask where they can get CDs :D

Getting this thread back on theme, I've just realised that there is an important omen for the Philippines. It truly means that the tour can not fail and will be a huge success for these sons of England........

.....The 25th of October is the feast of St Crispin!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother:be he ne'er so vile;
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

This tour is going to rock the world :D

How many people do you expect to come at the concert in the
Philippines ? Are there really so many fans? Are there all the Libera cd's available? It takes a few months, so how many people do you think? I think only 500. More? Have a flutter!

Well, if you look at the number of people on the various websites who are from the Philippines, the number of requests on the Libra guest book & Face book sites to attend the Philippines I reckon quite a few.

I'm thinking that the Philippines could be Libera mad just like Japan so I'm going to take your bet and guess at 2445!

I'm not so sure. All over the Philippines, for sure, I think we might number more than a thousand.

An important thing to consider though is that the Philippines is an archipelago so there may be fans who don't live in Manila and might not have the necessary funds to travel to Manila especially if they are young.

Also, the CD's are not that easily available in my hometown in the South. I don't know about Manila though. I think my sister looked for it once and couldn't find it.

So I don't really know how many there are, although I trust that since they booked the PICC, maybe the Libera management or whoever invited think they can fill the space.

One good thing though is that it will be very easy to get Filipinos to love these boys. We love music and who can resist Libera's charm? It'll be interesting to see a Libera craze akin to Japan and South Korea in the Philippines. Not impossible, I reckon. I've a mind to contact some television networks to give them a heads up of the performance. I'm sure a few guest appearances in some shows or any promotion from some of the big networks can fill that auditorium to capacity.

Go for it Carina! If we can get some radio/t.v. coverage for the guys that would be brilliant.

There must be some logic behind going there. I suspect EMI have decided to have a big push and therefore I would hope that they are laying the groundwork by getting Libera noticed in the media over there.

Of course a huge market to tap would be China. The only difficulty I can see is that China have a very closed door policy when it comes to religion (I remember a colleague of mine going to Hong Kong about 10 years ago so that they could smuggle Bibles over the boarder!). Have things changed there? If so I wouldn't be surprised to see a China trip very soon.

I can't really speak very much for China as I haven't been there. But from my conversations with a priest, promoting religion is still something that is tension-filled.

Anyway, I'm really thinking of going for the concert. First, I'm hoping that they decide to come to Singapore since I will still be here come October. If not, then I might really do something crazy and go back to the Philippines near the end of the semester just when things get really busy.

Sigh...if only it were a Saturday, it would be so much easier. Thing is, I have class on Mondays and I'm not yet sure if I can skip it to go for the Philippine concert.

I think they made a good choice in choosing the Philippines. We're not as rich as other countries but we know how to appreciate talent and especially if they come as stunning boys with great voices. :p I really think if they play their cards right this first time, they could be a very big hit here in the Philippines. I hope the tickets are not so expensive so that a larger crowd can be enticed (just in case the avid fans can't go or can't fill up the place).

I'm still trying to figure out how to contact the powers that be in the major networks here.

Actually, I just crafted out a rather long letter to a major network here. Here's hoping something good comes of it.

Very good Carina. Hope you can make it to see them live. We still don't know where the other concerts will be yet. Got to be more than one lol There's a few forum/sites from China who like Libera and are wondering when/if they will ever tour there.

Hmm, I think China is not so impossible. I remember Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco went to China after coming here to Singapore last July.
