I'd buy 'Bayan Ko' if it became available for download. I have a feeling it might be included on their next CD though in March.

Libera facebook mentioned that their release of Eternal got to Number 1 in the Philippine charts http://www.facebook.com/pages/Libera/10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 2490302106

Ticket prices will always be matched to demand. The nice thing about Libera as mentioned by DearMadine, is that they do perform free charity concerts and there are other not so expensive opportunities to see them.

Roll on 2010!! We will probably see a lot more of the young'uns coming to the fore next year. I expect the likes of Tom/Josh/Liam etc.. will have tought them well. ;)

I know the pain of forking out too much money to go to a concert. But I can honestly say that I don't regret my decision. I understand, of course, that people have different circumstances to deal with, and that it is a difficult decision to make.

I don't really know how well the CD's did after the concert since I was out of the country by then. But I believe Libera said that the cd's topped the charts the week before the concert and I know they must have made a pretty good amount of money with the cd's sold during the meet and greet and concerts.

For sure, they've tapped into the market of "teenaged girls that want to marry them". And there are a lot more who seem dedicated to the group. But as I said, they have to throw us some bones here and there to sustain those who are merely sitting on the fence.

Speaking of their new album due on March, I hope it's made available in the Philippines.

It was frustrating to be a fan of Libera here in the Philippines since up till the late 3Q of 2009, just before their concert, there was no Libera album available anywhere beside online. Though everything was available through torrents, I still wanted to buy their albums. I think I over did it... I now have two copies of Free, Visions and Eternal and four copies of New Dawn (two Phils version). I want to buy another copy Angel Voices. Haha. :)

Awesome. :D What did you with the two and four copies? Those CD's would make great gifts. And we'll also be spreading the Libera love around. haha. I'm asking my sisters to buy the Philippine version of New Dawn for me when they go back to Manila. I hope I receive my copy before I leave the Philippines.

I'd also just like to add that the overwhelming reception that Libera received was even without any influence from the local media tv. They only had the tv advertisement. I did email one of the major networks but either they didn't receive it or they did not trust my advice.

If one of the major networks had decided to cover the group by inviting them to a variety or talk show, the audience would be even much wider and a lot more girls would fancy themselves in love with Tom or Josh.

Yeah, this Libera obsession is becoming an investment. In addition to multiple copies of albums either to get one song or to compare choristers singing the same song. I got myself a larger capacity iPod to fit the Apple Loss Less versions of the CDs. A better set of earphones because the standard set that comes with the iPod does not do justice to the treble voices. Thank God for the kindness of relatives off-shore that can hand carry the albums home or I'd have to pay S/H and customs duties on the CDs too.

It had better or you can wager that I'm going to add plane tickets to HKG or SIN to my list of "investments" just so I can visit HMV. I think they are planning a simultaneous worldwide release.

Just to clarify my concerns about slicker management. My most immediate fear is that as the quest for world wide domination takes hold there will be less opportunities for me to see them live. Purely selfish on my part but if the big money is in Japan, Korea, Philippines, USA, etc then there will be little time to perform in the UK.

Perhaps my real worry though is that by becoming a marketed, 'professional' (i.e. seeking to maximise income) outfit it might fundamentally change the ethos and identity of Libera and in the end they might lose some of the charm that makes them so endearing. Worst case scenario is that parents start wanting little Billy to share in the profits and it all collapses in a horrible imploding mess.

By the way, did I mention that I am by nature a glass half empty man?

I hear you...

At least you are within reasonable proximity to hop on a train and attend a sung service at St. Philips. For me to do that, I'd need to ask my travel agent to build me a package tour to the UK that includes Croydon on a Sunday.

They're all just here, sitting on my bookshelf. They look great standing side by side. Hahaha! :D

I hear you about the them being great gifts. I made my aunt go to the concert with me and she was totally blown away by their performance and she borrowed by CDs.

I am with you , there was no London concert last year and in England only 1 concert at Arundal sadly. I am hoping next year they remember they are a London based choir but its not looking good sadly.

They sell Libera CDs in Singapore? I was suppose to go there in March but the plan fell through and now I'm going to Indonesia in April. :)

There's been a concert held in London and the South for the past 4/5 years. St John's, Arundel, Queen Elizabeth Hall, etc...

In many respects the South East is their most favoured and popular performing place, which makes sense due to the locality of St. Philips. Traditionally they tend to always have a warm up concert before any big tour, although I think some of them are just for close family and friends and not advertised.

I have only been a fan about 2 years so done QEH and Arundel but Arundel was not local living in London, i personally feel they should do at least 1 London concert a year considering there location.

Last year for the first time I sadly thought we get shafted because they dont seem to make as much cash in England and it now seems about Japan and the Far East , its no coincidence the first concerts annouced next year happen to be out that way either.

Dani, I know what you mean about Japan coming first but I can understand it. They get treated like the Beatles over there, mobbed by mainly young women - any young lad is going to love that sort of attention. Swap to the picture at Edinburgh - fat, ugly, middle aged people with a higher preponderance of men than you might otherwise expect. No contest.

Add to the that the huge amount of money to be made in sales (I would bet big money that the cost of the tour to Japan is paid for by people other than Libera) and it is a no brainer really. As Tom pointed out (#edit# TEB, not Culley), those Japanese fans are prepared to spend big money (there were coaches of them over in Ireland and that is a trip that doesn't come cheap). Pains me to say it, but the Japanese have earned their right to concerts. I'm just worried that the Philippines is catching up fast - hands off, they're ours
