Let's see if I can get this done. In no particular order, other than how I write them down:
1) Caledonia (Celtic Thunder)
2) Heartland (Celtic Thunder)
3) Puff the Magic Dragon (Peter, Paul, and Mary)
4) O Fortuna (Orff, from Carmina Burana)
5) Pathetique Sonata (Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 5, Op. 10 No. 1)
6) Libera (Libera, from the Libera Album)
7) Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)
8) American Pie (Don McLean)

Book: Lord of the Rings. It's long enough that I'll get a good read and it should have a bit of reread value.

Luxury Item: Leatherman (pocket knife). If there's something I've learned in my many years in scouts, it's that I only need a pocket knife, food/water, and shelter to survive. I can easily make a shelter and I'm assuming the island has fresh water and food.

IF it is too close to a "useful object" (since I could probably use vines to lash together a raft, no joke), I would have to go with a lifetime supply of toilet paper. :D

Pocket Knife would be allowed (for some reason in the UK we call them pen knives - don't know why). Liking the toilet paper though :D

Love O Fortuna (written for trebles that part as well IIRC) but Puff the Magic Dragon :?:

I've heard them called pen knives, pocket knives, swiss army knives, etc. I prefer Leathermans (leathermen?) since they have pliers and usually a larger blade on the knife. They also hold an edge quite well.

I've grown up listening to Peter Paul and Mary, so it's a bit of a comfort piece of music. I already know all the words and sing it around campfires during the summer, but it's an amazing song. Oh, and just for the record, it is about the loss of innocence, not drugs (though I wouldn't be surprised if they were on drugs when it was written). :)

I agree with this.
I read an interview with Mary Travers a few years ago and she set the record straight on the "meaning" behind Puff, The Magic Dragon. The song is NOT about drug use. She said that if they,as Peter, Paul and Mary, wanted to do a song about drug use, they would have written one plain and simple. No need to read between the lines. She said Puff is exactly what it seems to be, an innocent, fun song with a sad story.
