Maybe he's another Big Ben :D It's a shame we didn't get to see (hear?) much of Daniel until recently, what a great singer the lad is. I feel a bit sorry that his 'Panis' gets overlooked on the 'Peace' album, it really is one of the better versions I've heard (and I've heard more than a few).

But as I've said before, a boy's voice breaking is not something we should be sad about; it isn't something to regret, it's life and being Peter Pan would be rather horrible I reckon. Glad to see you around again dani.

Yep but to fair it is a very strong album with so many amazing songs so i guess thats why it gets over looked. He has really grown in confidence in the last year and he has done a good job with what he has been given. It just so happened he was around when they had so many strong vocalists and did not get a look in at the beginning.

Thanks :) , with no concerts over here i have not been on as much as nothing much to talk about :D

True on both counts. Of course, it's also entirely possible that Daniel didn't want to be in the limelight until he was a bit older. Oh, to have a mole inside Libera who could spill all the goings on to us!

Daniel's Panis angelicus is one I have come to appreciate over time. Partly that comes from being so moved by his performance of Stay With Me at Epsom. I wanted to listen to his solo more closely. His pronunciation is so clear and he sings very confident and 'smooth' if that's the word.
I guess we'll have to wait for USA reports for certainty about his voice right now. I must say I don't remember him singing at St. Philips last time I was there (June) so no clues from me unfortunately...

Yep i think he has taken time to adjust to being a lead soloist and thats why its so nice to see him perform now. He has really come into his own now.

Panis Angelicus is a very nice song, I never skip that one. Daniel sings it so well! Was it ever included in a concert?

I'm also glad to see you dani :D

Thank you. I had not realized i would be missed :D

I am bound to be on more in a few weeks as they start the tour. I will be intrigued to see how the line up has changed with no Stefan on board.

I agree with the above statements about Daniel. He was probably my favorite soloist at the Canadian concerts which I meantioned in my reviews. So smooth and confident. It is too bad that we didn't hear more solos from him earlier in his career, but that was a time when Libera had a great front line.

We assume he is not doing it due to his Sept theatre stuff in Vienna and he is out there 6 weeks before hand in rehearsal.

It will be interesting to see/hear the changes in the lineup. We all know and understand (at least we should by now) that a boys' choir is subject to constant change. That may be a cause of some regret for their followers, but it is also very exciting in that it gives LIbera's supporters a chance to hear what other talented boys in the group can do. I am sure that the new soloists, and there likely will be at least one or two this summer, will rise to the occasion. All we as supporters need to do is to have faith in Mr. Prizeman and his wonderfully talented singers and musicians. For the boys, this is, as one member once put it, a "once in a lifetime" opportunity. The members of Libera will learn a great deal, and not just in the musical sense, from their time with this group.

Well said :)
And somehow the fact that the line-up is always changing puts the emphasis ultimately on the music and the message that it may convey, all the different meanings it can have for the listeners. Even though some boys will attract a lot of attention and even a personal fanbase, in time they move on and Libera stays, with new boys, finding new musical territory etc but still remaining Libera.

I'm going to guess Stefan is coming. Really hope so. This year's summer tour is earlier than last year's, and it may be so that Stefan can do both.

maartendas: Well said. My wife and I 'love' the boys, but in a far different way from, can I say, girls of a certain age. Yes the music is, to us, what counts. But that doesnt mean we cannot appreciate each different boys voices. I truly believe each and every boy who has appeared on stage on CD or whatever with the group brings something very special, perhaps 'themselves' is the best way of putting it. All we can do is say 'thanks boys' and to thsoe who opperate behind the limelight thanks also. Your efflots are truly appreciated.
