I've done all the prep work, have had my dried fruit soaking in half a bottle of cognac overnight, and I've done the fiddly job of double lining the cake tin. Just waiting for this afternoons Evensong broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and I'll start the mixing.
I like to make my mince pies on Christmas Eve whilst listening to the Festival of 9 lessons and Carols from King's I'm thinking of making my own Christmas pudding this year too
Sounds lovely - but really early
Are you a fan of The Great British Bake Off by any chance?
I came across it a few weeks ago and enjoy it though I'm not a baker myself - luckily we do have an oven and my boyfriend loves baking

No, the cake is a rich fruit cake so it gets better with keeping - you also need the time to 'feed' the cake with more booze
Yes, I do watch the GBBO - I can't claim to be at that standard

Unfortunately I have very sad news. My mom passed away last week from breast cancer. This Monday was her funeral. One of the songs that was played was You Were There (she knew Libera through me).
My mom was a very sweet and strong woman who taught me many things. She only lived to be 59 years old.

Very sorry to hear that Maarten. My mother is only a few years away from retirement age and we all know how special they are too us. I only hope she is now at peace and hope Libera's music continues to brings solace for you in your time of grieving. All the very best.

decorating our Christmas tree, a tradition we always do it on the 1sr December, to the sounds of Angel Voices 3. cant think of a better way. Next up is The Christmas Album. For us this will be the first time we hear it at Christmas as we had it delivered to Uk last year when we were in the Canaries and didn't get to hear it until April.,
