I was told by Yuki from Japan that the interviewer is Takako Imai, the same woman who directed Venus in Eros. She acts as their Japanese interpreter, so she must have been asked by EMI Japan to do this interview in London. She may have asked the "mother" question, because it was around the time of Mother's Day in Japan (and in the US, too). Mothers like to hear kids gush about how wonderful mums are.

After transcibing the interview for the blog, I noticed another cute part. Upon being asked what they like about Japan, Kavana says he loves Japanese food. Ralph interjects, "And the streets are so clean!" Kavana doesn't miss a beat. He says, "They're tidy" and continues talking. That kid has such a quick mind! Great poise.
