I redo the list of the 14 songs known so far
In blue are the 12 new songs.
'Always There' cannot be the same song from the Angel Voices era as the composer is not the same.

  • The Lark’s Last Song
    Composer: Liszt
    Lyrics & Arrangement: Joshua Madine

  • One Small Voice
    Composer: Beethoven
    Lyrics & Arrangement: Sam Coates

  • Going Home
    Composer: Dvořák
    Lyrics: David Downes

  • Dido’s Lament
    Composer: Henry Purcell
    Lyrics: Nahum Tate

  • Sea Bird
Composer & Lyrics: Katie Hill & Chris Hill

  • Lullay
    Composer & Lyrics: Ben Crawley

  • Dream You Of
    Composer & Lyrics: Joshua Madine

  • Always There
    Composer: Takatsugu Muramatsu
    Lyrics: Robert Prizeman

  • Veni Sancte
    Composer & Lyrics: Raoul Neumann

  • Twilight
    Composer: Robert Prizeman
    Lyrics: Cecil Frances Alexander
    (remake)

  • Resurrectio
    Composer & Lyrics: Liam Connery

  • Happy Christmas (War Is Over)
Composer & Lyrics: John Lennon & Yoko Ono

  • Once (Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence)
    Composer: Ryuichi Sakamoto
    Lyrics: Sam Coates

  • Music was Born (from 'Rhapsody in Blue')
    Composer: Gershwin,
    Lyrics: Leslie Bricusse,
    Arrangement: Sam Coates

Surely 'Dream you of' is a translation issue and the actual title will be 'Dream of you'?

It would sound logical as "Dream You Of" is not grammatically correct.
But it is indeed written 'Dream You Of' on the Libera Records site.
Could 'Dream You Of' to be an artistic form choice ?
For now on, I let the official title 'Dream you of' and I will update it later if we see a change in the official site.

A few URLs (all Japanese so far) :
Official Libera Records
Tower Records
Rakuten
Amazon
Sony Music Shop

Usually Libera CDs in Japan are also launch from HMV and Yamano Music, but not this time.
Perhaps they will be added later...

This is so exciting. So many new songs including new works from Josh, Ben, Liam and Raoul. For Yorkie's sake, I rather hope the arrangement of "Dido's Lament" is closer to the Annie Lennox version rather than that of the usual operatic sopranos with their excessive vibrato. Can't wait for Sam's arrangement of "Rhapsody in Blue". Do we know the release date?

This is the Google translated announcement text on the Libera Records site:

"The release of Rivera's long-awaited new album , "Dream", has been confirmed! TheJapanese version will be released during his Japan tour ahead of the rest of the world!

Classical masterpieces such as Liszt's "Liebestraum," Beethoven's "Pathétique No. 2," and Dvorak's "New World Symphony No. 2" are enriched with Rivera's beautiful harmonies.

Rivera's former popular soloists, who are now active as artists, also participated in the songwriting!
This is the ultimate Rivera album, brought to you by the Rivera family, who know Rivera's harmonies inside and out.

It also includes "Always there," a treasured song left behind by Takatsugu Muramatsu and Robert Prizeman.

As the Christmas season approaches, I'm also looking forward to listening to the Rivera versions of "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" (music and lyrics by John Lennon and Yoko Ono) and "Once (Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence) (music by Ryuichi Sakamoto, lyrics by Sam Coates)."

So ... could it be a revisit (is that the same as "remake"?) of the old You Were There? The music was by Muramatsu, the lyrics by Robert and "always there" was a part of the lyrics.

I thought the same but I rather hope it is a new version of the old Always there with Muramatsu's touch.

I have no time to check on the other new songs right now, I'll check on it in September. Glad to see Raoul, Liam and Ben involved !

I just got off the phone with Henry Purcell and he said that he disagrees with you.

John, I don't think anyone has reason to be scared, as Libera will throw their own unique magic shine over it, so it will be heavenly in what way ever - they'll make the song their own! :D

In all seriousness, I actually kind of like how Annie Lennox sings it, but I'm not a fan of the arrangement. The desolate atmosphere of the original is ruined for me in the arrangement. As for operatic voices, some of them can be overbearing, but there are some incredible performances of this song that I would take over Annie Lennox any day.

I went and had a listen to the Purcell piece and my first thought was that Libera can't sing those lyrics

I love opera and this is a sad, but super-beautiful aria! The Annie Lennox already delivers a choral arrangement, while I hope that Libera will make something new out of it or merge existing versions to their own one.

I went and had a listen to the Purcell piece and my first thought was that Libera can't sing those lyrics

Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me,
On thy bosom let me rest,
More I would, but Death invades me;
Death is now a welcome guest.

When I am laid, am laid in earth,
May my wrongs create
No trouble, no trouble in thy breast;
Remember me, remember me, but ah! forget my fate.
Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

I mean, I'm less worried about the warbling fat lady and intrigued to see how they sprinkle the Libera magic on this one. I sort of get the feeling that because of the success of Cum Dederit and Ave Verum that they think there is an appetite for Libera to sing opera pieces. I wonder. I hope they make it three from three.
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

The first few I listened to were traditional operatic versions but I most say, as a fan of the Eurythmics, Annie has certainly done wonders with this and I can absolutely see this being a knock out Libera song with her version. Really going to enjoy it and now desperate to know who will sing it.

The first part is the recitative before the aria. The aria lyrics are:

When I am laid in earth
I'm laid in earth
May my wrongs create
No trouble
No trouble
In thy breast
Remember me
Remember me
But ah
Forget my fate
Remember me
Remember me
But ah
Forget my fate

But what if they treated the Purcell aria very simply, like they did with Händel's Where'er You Walk from "Semele"? Those weren't real boys choir lyrics either, but the Libera setting was just so great!

Yes, those lyrics are a much better fit and are what Annie Sings. Semele was one of my first Libera loves - the note Ben hits at around 3:41
