There target market is not the youth of today who go around sporting hoodies and cargo pants (fyi cargo pants went out 5 years ago) .
I don't know about that. Because frankly speaking, I don't really care what they wear as long as it's not downright ratty. Maybe it's different in the UK, and I can't speak for the other fanbases, but in the Philippines, I don't think people care that they wear hoodies or not.
Over here people who wear hoodies are yobs and chavs basically. Thats why in places like Bluewater you can not wear hoods up and stuff.
Yeah, thanks for clarifying. I think I've read that somewhere before so that's why I mentioned that it might be different in the UK. For us here, they don't really have that meaning. I think. If they want to strengthen the home fanbase, then they probably have to ditch the hoodies.
How about the robes? Do you know why he would diss those for a reason other than he just doesn't like them?

i dont know what his problem is about the robes as boy choirs as a whole wear them. So very odd he found that part odd. Maybe it was the mixture of classical robes and then seeing them in street clothes and he didnt think it worked.

And don't you think that might be the point dani? Young lad + hoodie = trouble?
Maybe they are playing on that image; to show that you shouldn't necessarily judge people by what they wear? That an image does not reflect on the quality of an individuals character?
Then again you and I tend to see things rather differently on many levels - I guess that's what old age does to you. It makes you look for things that may not be there. Make comparisons that may never have been intended.
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.
They are amazing those hoodies aren't they. As soon as you put them on and pull the hood up, they demonize you into a sinister, unforgiving person, who's likely to skulk in the shadows of the night and rob their granny of their pension.
Maybe the boys of Libera prove the point that it's not the item of clothing that's the problem it's the person inside that wears it, and society's problem as a whole for jumping on board the media express bandwagon.
Same with guns. They are very dangerous guns. Doesn't matter that it takes the finger belonging to the warped mind of a Homo Sapien to actually pull the trigger and fire it. No they are just dangerous, period.
Anyway I digress. The reviewer is an idiot. All his reviews are crap, and I'm surprised he's allowed to utilise the BBC as a soundboard for his nonsense. No further discussion required on my part.

How come they only critisize Libera's appearance (they call Libera's hoodies disturbing!)
oh come on, this is not a music review! grr...
I've read the review, and I think this isn't a music review at all.
The piece really does come off more like "hey, look at me. Look how many long, fancy-schmancy words I can throw in there."
And is Mother's Day different in the UK? Because I don't think that happens until the 2nd week of May.
Def not a music review...just....ew simply put.....I don't know about my fellow Americans but the hoodies are not an issue over here for me, AND HEY CARGOS NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE(i wore then last night to a night club )

Just saw this " Father's Day in UK is celebrated in much the same way as it is celebrated in US. In UK too, Father's Day festival is celebrated on the third Sunday of June and therefore the date of the festival is never fixed. People celebrate the occasion by honoring their father and expressing affection for them by presenting popular gifts like cards, flowers, chocolates and neckties. Little children often give handmade gifts to their dad. "
