Libera Dreams

The reason I like film scores and classical music is partly because I am rather obsessed with the depth of the orchestrations. That's some of the reason why I like the Lady in the Water soundtrack.
Sometimes I'll listen to music just to pick out different parts. The layers of harmony, or the polyphonic sections... it's all fascinating.
But sometimes the music just has to have a lovely feel... I don't know.
Libera is unlike anything else, though. Indescribable and beautiful!
(I've listened to many soundtracks from movies I have not even seen, such as Lady in the Water, The Merchant of Venice, Schindler's List, The Legend of Bagger Vance, and various Harry Potter ones. And I still like them, even if I don't know exactly what sort of scenes the music goes with. )
Speaking of The Merchant of Venice, does everyone know that Libera sang on that soundtrack? They sing on Blessings of the Boat and Ben Crawley has a beautiful (albeit somewhat short) solo in Song for Bassanio.

My parents both listen to country and "oldies." I love classical music, especially that of Bach. He was probably the most inspired musician who ever lived, and I recently bought my 550th Bach CD. I like Protestant hymns and Gregorian chants, and a lot of other stuff...except rap.

Ahh...... it was a very bad idea to start this thread..... I will just have to try to keep my self under control =) I like almost all music!! Well, not all music.... I can't stand rap, heavy metal and anything else really, really loud!! My particular favorites though are probably James Blunt, Avril Lavigne (not as much anymore, just when her songs were a bit.... better) Vienna Boy's Choir, Enya, Billy Gilman, Coldplay, Greenday, and most show music!! Oh and did I forget?? LIBERA!! And might not have said this already, but LIBERA!! And oh, what about LIBERA!!!!!!! =)

OMG! I like Billy Gilman too! I found his songs on youtube and I really liked it. But I kind of prefer his younger voice (before his voice broke). But I still enjoy listening to his songs nevertheless. My favourites are "We go on", "Till I can make it on my own", "God's alive and well" and many more...

And ya, I can't stand anything loud! They always give me headaches even if I only listen to it for a few minutes. Argh. Soothing and relaxing music like Libera suits me better.

Yeah!!!!!! I think my favorites are probably Oklahoma, One Voice and There's A Hero......

Billy Gilman, yeah I would have to say the same. The first song I heard from him was Oklahoma, then One Voice, and then Hero.....then I heard the duet with him and Charlotte Church in Dream a Dream.

Oh yeah.. I almost forgot! I like Oklahoma too! And One Voice! He's a country singer isn't it? Seriously, what's the difference between these genres of music? Like pop and country? I can't really tell.

Hmmm..... I think he is country!! Well, I don't know because Dream A Dream isn't really country..... more like a pop classical mix.....

The Mass in B minor, and some of the cantatas (140, 80, 135) for starters--Bach's choir, incidentally, was a treble choir itself: the Thomanerchor (Choir of St Thomas) is one of the oldest treble choirs in Europe, founded in 1212.

haha.. Libera's songs loop forever in my playlist, and i feel a little guilty for not playing songs other than Libera's.
But, i also love gospel/soul/jazz music.. just by watching an adult gospel choir singing makes me want to sing along and clap my hands.. it's fun!
as for popular music, my favourites are Bjork, Dido, the Corrs, sixpence none the richer

I listen to quite a varied selection; it has been referred to as eclectic but the common theme is strong vocals.

Meat Loaf, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, Hayley Westernra, The Killers, One Republic, Train, The Script, Snow Patrol, U2, Blake, Chris Tomlin, Ladysmith..., Simon & Garfunkel, Blue Foundation.... to name a few.
