Here's a video taped recording of the ATV Production from 1977 with some members of the original cast from Belmont School. I doubt any of them are still trebles.

Nice review of the Tosca I saw last week, including compliments for DC and CVMS.

Looks intriguing. I've never heard the Drakensberg choir before, I wonder what they might sing alongside those other choirs? A quick scan of their YouTube shows them performing Tchaikovsky and Bruno Mars in recent months

I see that in addition to this large concert they are also performing alone in the rather smaller venue of New College Oxford chapel, at Wells and Worcester cathedrals with local choirs, and with tenor Innocent Masuku at St Paul's Knightsbridge.

I wonder which would be the pick of these concerts...

Honestly, I could never have predicted what this was for. It absolutely was fun! No post about it since, even though the song and vid dropped at least 3 weeks ago? Maybe House music not on brand for the school?

Personally, I think this is one of the most epic things they have ever done. Stumbled upon this completely by accident while looking for Tosca reviews. Imagine my surprise...

Pic 3: I think he knows we're singing Byrd tomorrow.
Pic 4: No honestly, you won't have heard this one! "what did the cyborg composer from the future say?", "I'll be Bach"

The Vasa museum is indeed fantastic, that and the Nobel museum were the two I went to on my one visit to Stockholm.

Best wishes to the boys in the first concert of their tour.

OMG... I really really hope I get to hear this in the UK. Genuinely made me want to fly out for the last concert.

I had never heard it before. Here is a version recorded by Westminster Cathedral Choir. I think it is a beautiful song. It was dedicated to the dead of the Dunblane tragedy, and I find it such a moving piece.

Amazing to think that Malakai is actually the same age as DW and FM who are now fully fledged tenors. Not many first trebles are 15 years old.😳

L.Q, H.A and S.W appear to be absent from this trip.

Looking at the choir it appears as though E.H and N.S have moved back to the Altos/Countertenor row.

I'm not sure you can tell a whole lot by the positioning there. Here's a photo of the trebles taken the following day...

That’s why I said “it appears as though”…

E.H’s voice was in transition even at Christmas last year, and someone who went to the recent Libera concert said that N.S had moved towards the back and was singing low notes. Not a stretch to think they may be singing in the lower registers in the CVSC. Could be that they can sing third treble just as F.M was able to at Christmas.

Can’t see where it says that the boys on that trip were all trebles. No shade, just observations.🤷🏽‍♀️

No, I appreciate your opinions. I just like to express my own as well.

You may be correct about the current status of the choristers you mentioned. It's a reasonable deduction based on their age and evolving roles in Libera.

In this particular photo, however, the positioning doesn't appear to exactly correlate with either tone or height. CB is way in the back, but reports from the last Libera concert were that he's still quite trebly... and that tiny kid behind him. Why is he there? Surely he's not a baritone.

The last photo I posted was taken the day after they got back, apparently assembled to sing for some Japanese visitors. They're recognizable as the treble choir that sang in their recent trebles-only Visions concert. I'm sure there are natural altos in the group as well, although hopefully not the countertenor kind :? .

It says all are welcome, but I automatically presume they don't mean crazy Libera fans. :P

They are doing Guys and Dolls as their summer musical next week, too. (And I actually go to more musicals than concerts per year, on average) And you know if Scott is involved it's going to be good.

But, while I would love to attend both, I'll stick to my general rule of only attending events marketed as Schola Cantorum!

Hopefully, we'll get some nice clips posted.
