Re: Dream (new album 2024)

The entire album is now available on all major streaming platforms.
According to the inlay from the Japanese version that was posted on here the main soloist is Lewis Quinn. Edward, Theo and Ben are also credited. I'm guessing Edward is the younger-sounding voice starting the second verse, Theo joining in with him to harmonise and Ben starting the vocalises but I'm not at all sure. I am fairly confident however that the older-sounding voice is all Lewis. I love his voice on this so much - he's pushed the song up to one of my favourite tracks and is competing for my favorite solo of the album.Mercurial909 wrote: ↑1 week ago
Anyone know who was singing “Going Home”? Sounded like one of the older boys whose voice is in transition.
What was the note they were making such a big deal about in the movie Boychoir? Top D? If so, Libera has them beat by a note.fugalharmony wrote: ↑1 week ago Finally, I've been waiting for this! I like Freddie H.'s tiny lap keyboard. I suspected that Ben was leading with the super high notes, but I wasn't sure until now.
Definitely Libera's best BTS video ever!Cat-a-tonic wrote: ↑1 week ago Really glad to see the 'Making of' video is out too - I was really starting to wonder if we were going to get one of those this time. Looking forward to watching it.
Honestly, you are probably correct since the official soloist list does not include him as a soloist. But his sound is definitely dominant in the mix. I wonder if they recorded multiple boys singing together and raised Morgan's mic levels up...Cat-a-tonic wrote: ↑1 month agoPeople who have better musical ears than I do - is the Morgan part definitely a solo? I agree it sounds a lot like Morgan but I thought I could here a few voices singing softly in unison and I originally took it for a choir part or at least not a solo.gingerthedog1 wrote: ↑2 months ago
Resurrectio: Very confident this is Luca, followed by Morgan, then Luca and Nathan on a duet possibly.
Agree that the first voice is quite probably Luca, although it's lower there's something about the tone and expression that reminds me a lot of some of his other solos.
The CD insert lists Luca and Frederick H. as the two soloists. The other parts in question seem to have a couple voices in unison, and I think Morgan's voice is in there.gingerthedog1 wrote: ↑1 week agoHonestly, you are probably correct since the official soloist list does not include him as a soloist. I generally agree with you, although I think "Resurrectio" is actually quite upbeat. It just has a mystical quality to it that feels a bit spooky. It also seems to revolve around a mode that sounds kind of Middle Eastern to me, making it hard to tell if you're in a major or minor key for most of the song.gingerthedog1 wrote: ↑1 week ago After listening to the album, I was surprised at how different the sound is compared to Forever. It was probably unintentional on the part of Libera, but Morgan and his solos/voice seem to have dominated the direction of both the overall choral sound, the album theme, and the song choices. He has a mysterious, soft, "dreamy" voice that matches almost every track.
Forever felt light, playful, bright... it matches the light blue album cover. Dream, with a dark blue cover, feels more dramatic, weightier, and ominous, while still hosting a few cheerful tracks (Seabird, Lark, Veni Sancte, Happy Christmas).
Morgan's sweet and light voice brings a cheerful brightness to a slightly darker album sound.
There was another now defunct fan site on Yahoo called Angel Voices that had a list of the highest notes in Libera songs (it was only the first five or so albums) and l think they listed a top E on another song but I may be mistaken. Sadly that was several computers ago so I don't think I have it anymore to checkLuckdragon wrote: ↑1 week agoWhat was the note they were making such a big deal about in the movie Boychoir? "Sancta" has a high e-flat in it, sung by Steven Geraghty. He's singing along with Liam O'Kane an octave higher.Yorkie wrote: ↑1 week agoThere was another now defunct fan site on Yahoo called Angel Voices that had a list of the highest notes in Libera songs (it was only the first five or so albums) and l think they listed a top E on another song but I may be mistaken. Thank you! My memory isn't quite as terrible as I thought but I guess an E-flat isn't quite enough to stop Ben getting the honour of the highest ever Libera notefugalharmony wrote: ↑1 week ago"Sancta" has a high e-flat in it, sung by Steven Geraghty. Frankly, I didn't even notice Ben's high E until after it was mentioned in the video. I had to listen really closely because it's kind of buried in the overall sound.Yorkie wrote: ↑1 week agoThank you!
