Hello,
I've never introduce myself, so I correct my mistake.
My name's Claire, I'm 20 and I study psychology. I'm french and I use to go to the french forum.
I first discover Libera in Mars 2009, listening "I am the day" live. I like the lower voices like Jakob's or Sam's because I use to sing in a choir as alto.
I hope you won't mind of my pooor english.
bye

ps : I traduce the songs in french for those who can't speak english, that's my job for the french forum...

Hey Tom,TEB wrote:The music for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is probably my favorite. The french horn solo in the opening credits is just great. Glory, The Land Before Time, Field of Dreams, Aliens all rank up there. In fact, in Aliens, his music makes the movie that much scarier and during the count down before the reactor explodes, the music really builds the suspense. Will Ripley make it?LiberAeterna wrote:Hey TEB! We have worked with Horner in the past but, unfortunately, I have not personally met or talked with him. I agree with you and am a fan of his scores as well. Some of my favorites: Glory, Braveheart, Legends of the Fall to name just a few. What are some of yours?TEB wrote:
Any chance you know James Horner? I think he is one of the greatest modern symphony composers ever. His soundtrack recordings do not need the movie to succed. They are wonderful on their own.
I have to ask, if you do ever get the chance to meet him, would you tell him just how much I like his music, please?
I just wanted to pass along a link to a new soundtrack release you might be interested in. It is for the complete score to Horner's Star Trek III! It is being released next week through a label called FSM (Film Score Monthly) and you can buy it through Screen Archives. We sell them our CDs and I have bought from them many times so you can trust them.

I finally got to see what he looks like. I recently got a dvd of Star Trek II and in the special features, there is an interview with him.

Hey Tom!
No problem
I'm glad you will be able to enjoy a deluxe version of this classic score! I just received mine yesterday and it sounds fantastic
There are also great liner notes and bonus tracks that were not on the original release. After hearing this again, I have to say that this is one of my favorite scores of his, even though I love Trek II as well (did you buy that one too?). Trek III has a more reflective, emotional quality to it. My favorite cues are the Prologue/Main Title, Stealing The Enterprise, a very exciting track and my favorite scene in the movie
, and Returning To Vulcan. Although Goldsmith's Star Trek: The Motion Picture is my favorite overall Trek score this one is right behind it.
No problem
