Here's what happens when one is the lookalike of George Clooney

Well, do you think that we should plan to wear a suit and tie, in case we queue early and by misfortune find ourselves seated in the front row ?

No suit & tie for me. Might go for shirt and casual trousers (pants in American) - if there is seating I suspect that the front rows may be reserved for VIP's.........

(edit : I see that John ahead me. But I let my message ! :P )

- - - - - - - - - - -

I received and email about the SoP event :)

Here the PDF file they sent to ticket buyers.
http://www.fichier-pdf.fr/2011/09/06/so ... fopack.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A few things :
- The name "Libera" is not appearing on that file, neither on the various lasts pages I have seen on recently about that 50th SoP anniversary.
This is annoying me because even on the Libera official site, there is nothing yet confirming their presence at this event

- There is seats, it's confirmed

- A dress code is applying. Or at least is suggested.
I'm worried by this : "If you'd like to bring party hats, flags, whistles, church or choir banners etc, please do so!"
Does it means that the attendance will looks like the Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall ?

There is an access map :
Image

The public schedule is :
1800 hrs Doors open
1900 hrs Audience to take their seats
1915 hrs Sound check and rehearsal of audience hymns with conductor, Paul Leddington Wright
1930-2130 hrs Record Songs of Praise 50th Birthday Celebration.

Please note there will not be an interval during this recording
Thanks to Jimmy's link a little above, we know also roughly what is the artists schedule :
1400 : Stage Call
1415-1430 : Sound check
1430-1730 : Full Television dress rehearsal
1730-1900 : Supper Break (supper boxes will be provided)
1900 : Stage Call
1915 : Sound check
1930-2130 : Recording (2 hours)
The program that will be aired on TV will be edited and will be only one hour long !
I hope they will cut only blanks moments, talks, clapping, and that no artists will disappear during the editing process...
The broadcast will be on the following Sunday, 2nd October 2011.

Well, at least the bar is open for decent hours. I think I'll split my time between the bar and the stamp exhibition - what more fun could you have? Are we certain that Libera will still be there and if they are is it as backing or as part of a bigger youth choir?

Have to admit, I did not expect instructions quite like this. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Maybe they'll have a birthday cake, too! :D

Too bad Yorkie has offered to a Japanese fan his ladybug tiny pink umbrella with ears that he bought in Beverley for the Libera Concert
The success would have been guaranteed

Today I received an email from seetickets.com confirming me the despatch of my SoP Ticket :)

Bad surprise :
The ticket is said with what really looks like a reserved seat reference, something like : C2,K,13 (example here, not my reference.).
This can be read as "block C2, Row K, Seat 13".

If it's really a reserved seat reference then I'm far far away from the stage, I will be drown in the middle of the crowd
The good things are that I will not need to do a long queuing and I will not ruin the show being filmed in close-up

Didn't notice that - I have seat E, A, ** - I guess it depends how the blocks of seats are set out - you might be half way back in a block that is near the front or at the front of a block that is halfway back........

Bit of a downer getting a specific seat though as it means I'll be sat in the middle of a load of strangers who will no doubt be waving flags and singing away in a happy clappy fashion

Is the British people here naturally know the three hymns said to be sung by the pubic ? :)

- Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer
- Angel-Voices Ever Singing
- Jerusalem

I already know by heart Jerusalem (thanks to Libera  )
But the two others are unkown for me.... I have now homework to do

No information about seating map on the Alexandra palace site.
And no mention at all about Libera being present... I hope they have not cancelled :|
I'm going to send them an email...

Edit : I have found two old seats maps for past shows, here and here, and the only conclusion that we can make is that we can't conclude anything about our location in the venues.
Apparently blocks letters are not given in alphabetical order depending of the distance of the stage. Maybe block E is in front of the stage and being in row A will drops you at first row perfectly centred :) I'm myself in row L, so wherever my block will be, I will be far from everything

No worries, at least you won't be seated in the first row. (minding the TV cameras  )
Too bad I won't be there.
Actually, I'm more worried about that missing umbrella (with extra ears...) :D
