Well the acid test for me was I originally heard this advert at a friends house, I wasn't even paying attention to the TV at the time. Then suddenly I heard that brief snippet and thought 'Libera' - missed the name of the beer at that stage, but eventually it came on again.

There's going to be more adverts by 'Bombardier Beer' so I'll keep a lookout to see if they feature more Libera.

I also think it is indeed Libera, and if it's not, I would really like to know that choir!

I think it's Libera as well. It sounds exactly like Sanctus. There aren't many choirs that sound like Libera does.

Top skaters in Japan and the foreign country invited the victim of a East Japan great earthquake, and the ice show was held on July 27.

The tune used for Mao Asada's exhibition acting was "I vow to thee,my county" of LIBERA.

The image of player Mao Asada's exhibition was improved from an official site of "THE ICE".

Player Mao Asada seemed to actually go to the stricken area, to see the disastrous scene, and to have chosen this tune.

The appearance that acts according to this tune is very beautiful and moving.

Very nice interpretation, thanks for sharing. I always keep my fingers crossed that they don't fall over on a jump, especially on this occasion, but she did a fine job. That was Mr Horncastle's voice wasn't it, from the Angel Voices CD. Nice to get a reminder of just how good he was ;)

The old hockey player in me screams "BOOO FIGURE SKATING" but...ok I secretly watch it every time I can :-P That was *beautiful*. She really did feed off the music so well. Lovely skater, obviously nice choice in music, and beautiful interpretation. Not to mention a nice way to promote Libera, though I suspect they don't need that so much in Japan.

In the Wikipedia entry for Mao Asada, under the "Programs" section, which describes the music that the skater uses in competitions or exhibitions, for the upcoming 2011-2012 competitive season, "I Vow to Thee, My Country" by Libera is listed as the music for an exhibition (non-competitive) programme. I'm not sure how reliable Wikipedia is as a source. I am a "seeing is believing" type of person.

I think two versions of the song were mixed together. I just listened to the studio version on the Angel Voices CD with the white cover. There is no violin solo, but Michael Horncastle is the soloist. The violin solo by Fiona Pears appears to have come from the Leiden concert recording. The way these versions were combined was lovely, and the violin solo does have an Eastern influence to it. Ms. Asada interpreted the music beautifully. She is part of a very strong tradition of female skaters from Japan who are able to skate programmes not only with technical, but also artistic perfection.
