It makes since since the word "ring" is there and we tend to think of ring as the ringing of a bell and so on.
As far as duets go, Time is not really a duet. Josh sings seperatly and Ben sings seperately. I don't think they sing togther( duet) at any point, though I could be wrong.
Hum, Tom you do have a valid point, however the definition of a duet is a "composition for two vocalists or two instrumentalist". There is a possibility that 'Time' is just a rare exception of a duet considering it is mainly Josh and Ben singing albeit not together at any given point as you pointed out, but the song is mainly the two of them singing so it can be classified as a Duet.
I might possibly be wrong, if I am please do correct me.
Actually, you have a very valid point as well. I will have to dig up some of my old music books to see.
Does anyone else here, especially someone who is a performer, know for sure?

If I get to church on Sunday, I will ask our musician. We are getting a major snowfall right now, up to 18 inches, so getting to chuch Sunday morning might be a problem.

The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music defines duet as "Any combination of two performers (with or without accompaniment), or a composition for such, as in pianoforte duet." No statement there that they have to sing or play simultaneously, although that is of course the most common form.
And, we are snowed in here is south central PA. I have 18 inches in my front yard and still snowing at 11:40am Sat. Our governor declared a state of emergency. Glad my car is safely in its garage where it is going to say.

Tom, I agree that note would fit perfectly but it just doesn't sound like note to me. That said I think dawn, although it fits just makes for too many dawns. Noon is least likely but some people in other places swear by it. My money is on note, but I'd only make it a small bet as I'm not that certain
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

Sounds like a few days off work then. And you with a stash of whisky (note, whisky my Scottish friend ) and a stock of Libera CD's - what will you do?
By the way, I've no idea about duets really but I'd sort of thought it was two people singing a song ain a way that both voices compliment one another. I guess it doesn't have to have them singing at the same time.........
Anyway, it's my thread so if anybody wants to include Time they can and that's official (sorry Tom ).

Sorry to butt in on a dialogue...
I, being in SE Asia, am not snowed in.
If you give me a liter of single malt scotch whisky and some Libera CDs, why I would "sing forever, sing for you..."

...best keep the whiskly and CD's away from you then
The South East including London is expecting some snowfall next week. I expect they'll call a state of emergency if/when it reaches 2 inches.
Too many great duets in Libera to mention, but Tom Cully and Ed Day in their 'Do No Stand' Concert DVD puts me in a state of paralytic reflection and admiration to this very day.
Tom and Josh have teamed up well in a few good songs too.
Unfortunately for me my car is quite litterally buried in my driveway(we have no garage ) and my door is half way covered with snow :shock:and its STILL snowing...i think...may have stopped...but I HAVE to go to work tomorrow. Even if declared a state of emergency my job is not excused But we probably wont be declared a state of emergency only because there was a envoy of plows and sanders on ALL major toll roads and highways in the state....for once we go in prepared

It has stopped here. In fact, the sun was shining a little bit ago. Our governor did declare a state of emergency for today but I am not sure when it is set to expire. He did it more to keep people off the roads until they were cleared and so he could activate the Pennsylvania National Guard to help the State Police. I should be able to get out to church tomorrow morning. I wasn't sure of that at all this morning when I couldn't get off the front step without sinking 18 inches down.
2 inches of snow in London is an emergency?!! Wow. We call that a dusting of snow here in PA.

Its all done where I am. Until Tuesday, apparently. I haven't tried going outside yet, though. I think our neighbors have lost their little convertible car in the snow drifts.
