Yeah, same here. The Climb is a good song. The very sad thing is that she really can't act but Disney seems to think that in order to be successful singers have to have their own TV show as well....irishoreo wrote:lacrymosa2 wrote:Well, we will all find out later on, as their popularity level is gradually increasing towards Miley Cyrus status.TEB wrote:
I am not really sure about this story. My source on Ben's American citizenship got his information right from Mr. Phillips, Ben's father. But, I will ask around.
As long as they don't become male miley cyrus' we'll be good!!!! I'm not a fan of Miley, maybe except for "The Climb" I do feel bad for the girl though, all these people behind her but none are truly friends...

Well, the "Miley Cyrus" thought shrugged me. It's not that I don't like her but I feel a bit bad for her. And as much as I want Libera's popularity to be at its peak, I don't want the boys to be followed by paparazzi all the time.irishoreo wrote:lacrymosa2 wrote:Well, we will all find out later on, as their popularity level is gradually increasing towards Miley Cyrus status.TEB wrote:

What I meant to say is that they are getting more and more famous, not becoming the male counterpart of the singer.chix wrote:Well, the "Miley Cyrus" thought shrugged me. Ok, I have some answers here.TEB wrote:I don't know about his mother but I can find out.Yorkie wrote:Tom, is Ben's mum American also? There is also another story that Ben was born in Germany.

Absolutely not!!!! I am quite proud. Is it wrong that I take personal pride in Ben being American?!
About Ben's mom. My friend doesn't know but he is going to find out. He "thinks" she is a British citizen but he is not sure. All he is sure of right now is that Ben's dad in an American citizen and he has made sure all of his children were born here so they would be American's by birth.
About being German, well the Phillips family could be of German decent but they are not German citizens anymore than I am a Scottish citizen. I am of Scottish decent and am very proud of being that but I am an American by birth.

Thanks Tom. That's pretty cool that Benedict was born in the States. I'll be more proud if he was born in SoCal.TEB wrote:Ok, I have some answers here.TEB wrote:I don't know about his mother but I can find out.Yorkie wrote:

My very dear friends - it matters not where you were born, it matters how you are raised
And I'm very sure that our young Mr Benedict is the quintessential English gentleman
After all, Rudyard Kipling was most definitely British as was Tolkien.
And Philipp is an English surname so not sure where the German heritage would come in if at all - so you see, quite English
I strongly suspect his mum is British - although many Americans come to work in London for a time, it's pretty unusual to stay unless it involves matters of the heart

...and right now, it matters not where he is from or which jurisdiction claims him. What matters is that Master Philipp has given us some of the most memorable music there is.
Say and expect of him what you will. All I can say to divine providence for such a gift is, "thank you"...
The boy's name is Benedict - in Latin "Benedictus" or "blessed". From my POV it is we the listeners that are blessed coz the music has been brilliant.

Yeah, well, my middle name is English... but most unfortunately, that doesn't make me English. Perhaps it has something to do with my parents having picked it out of the baby name book...Yorkie wrote:And Philipp is an English surname so not sure where the German heritage would come in if at all - so you see, quite English![]()

Indeed. This kid is blessed with boatloads of talent and smile, with a serving of hyperactivity, haha.JoelinMkt wrote:...and right now, it matters not where he is from or which jurisdiction claims him. What matters is that Master Philipp has given us some of the most memorable music there is.

#edit# OOOPPSS - just realised you meant that your middle name is 'English' not that you have an English middle name! Good job nobody is taking this seriously

May I ask where that Chardonnay is from?Yorkie wrote:I'm in danger of being taken seriously herelibera36 wrote:Yeah, well, my middle name is English... but most unfortunately, that doesn't make me English. but I have to point out the difference between a given name and a surname that you inherit (generally) from you father. Now of course people can change their surname but not often. So you can call your child Moon Rocket Chardonnay but the surname would be Philipp - and that is a marker
