It's just really strange because so far, those who don't like their past albums usually post respectful, sometimes indifferent and sometimes even critical reviews on Amazon. A few threads down, you guys were talking about hoodies.. Actually I thought Libera's hoddies are cool, cool enough for me to purchase one almost identical black hoodie. Ok, all plain black/white hoddies are identical to theirs. The BBC review is really ridiculous, it's obviously one sided view! Grr!

All I can say to that bitter person is, YEAH RIGHT! Tom Cully was favored because of his good looks over his singing skills. From what world is he coming from? Seriously.

I think that David Ross' review of the album is tangent, as it fails to state why the author does not like the album. One thing I have to agree with Ross is that I do not care for the hooded sweatshirts or hoodies that much either, although I do own two tennis specific hoodies from adidas. Regarding "Mac", I would speculate that it would be someone who was involved in Libera during the time when Tom started entering the limelight and not an angry fan. Only way to really find out who it is would be to trace it back to the computer, but why waste our time?

I think he hinted it in a grand total of one paragraph. He tried to explain in the comment part but as Yorkie noted, he still didn't really review the music. It was like the music was swept 'under the hoods' or something because he just proceeds to talk about the wardrobe and Libera's marketing strategy.

1. The people who he is really trying to capture with his product are those that listen with their eyes instead of their ears.

I have never been to any forums of other artist who talks about music in general besides the ones that involves Libera. Clearly, we have talked about their looks from time to time but most of the topics her (and on other forums I've been as well) are most of Libera's songs, musicality, note range, and even other artists in the same genre that we would like as well. If we are all about the looks, then why must we stick to Libera? There are a lot of artists with good looks out there that would be easier for "those kinds of fans" to look out.

2. The most recent evidence of this is when a boy "Tom" aged out of the group some time ago, and still many of the post made to the choirs personal sites and youtube videos are a bunch of obsessive tripe lamenting where he is, why is he gone, and how are they going to live without him. This is occuring because unlike the previous boys who got the same attention, Prizeman doesnt have a new "pretty boy" lined up yet to thrill and entice his "audience" with.

He must have been a fan cause he knows Tom's name. hahaha I admit that I do wonder those thing s that he mentioned but I think that's pretty normal considering the fact that Tom had been the principal soloist for a long time and he had encountered a huge fan page. But I don't really think that Tom or any soloist for that matter is just a "pretty boy" because they are really talented. And about there are no new "pretty boys" on the line, oh clearly he has no eyes because all the boys are really cute.

3. I'm not bitter about Libera, I point out that they're a great thing for young people to be involved with.

No one's asking you, but you sound really guilty telling all people you are not bitter.

I really didn't want to comment on this but I think he really had gone to far. I'm just curious about that one boy with promising talent that was given one solo as a parting gift. Could he be talking about Daniel or Jakob?

I tend to see Mr. Ross as a paid critic that has put a lot of words into a very small idea - his own view of what a choir should be and how a classical piece should sound.

And this Mac character, for someone that claims to dislike Libera and Robert Prizeman is not just oddly current with their news but also curiously diligent over the support base reaction to Master Cully's departure.

In a world of hidden IPs and Internet handles, can we be really sure that the author and the person leaving comment are not the same person...???

I thought of this, too. But David Ross' flippant review which doesn't talk much about the music suggests to me that David Ross is not an avid fan, or someone who follows the group so closely that he should know of all those lamenting about Tom's loss. It seems that he doesn't know much of Libera except for what he sees in the surface.

Mac, however, seems like a bitter fan, for whatever reason. He knows too much to be just a passerby. And he feels too much to be just an innocent, indifferent onlooker.

I wondered about the soloist that only received one solo as well. Perhaps Sam? But it must be remembered that maybe not every Libera boy wants to solo; the reviewer did not take that into account. I think that RP would give each boy a solo if they wanted one and if he had a song that would suit their voice, and if they were ready to handle the pressure of performing in front of an audience and so on.

I read that part again and he didn't state that he gave him a solo in the album, so it could have been Sam cause he did a solo in one version of Sanctus right? I agree that it could be that not all members might want to have a solo and another thing that I could think of, based from personal experience (my mom's a vocal instructor and conducted a choir when I was young until about 16 yrs old) in our choir before, there are a lot of promising kids who could pull high notes easily or memorize a difficult harmony and create a beautiful sound but not all of them are fit to be a soloist. I remember a choirmate who has a crazy high voice and she's always singing the descant parts but she never got a solo.

But did the reviewer mean a "new solo" or just a solo in general because Joe had "Salva Me" and "Stay with me" in 2008....

I didn't take him to mean recent and I was thinking of album tracks as well - but it's all speculation and whoever Mac is they have issues.
