Well, it's a long time ago for and not long after that concert my voice broke. At first we had to record our voice on CD and that was sent to Shore in Canada, I think. Then me and 2 other boys had to audition live and then he decided that I got the solo. It was the best experience ever in my whole life, that's for sure.
What did you sing? Breaking of the Fellowship?
I sung 'the bridge of Khazad-dum', the part when the Balrog takes Gandalf with him and the end of the first part of the symphony which indeed was 'the breaking of the fellowship'.
@Jimmy in the Sportpaleis Antwerp there was about 9000 people.
I think here is the song 'the bridge of Khazad-dum':
Skip to 4.57 for the start of the high parts!
And I also would appreciate if we could hear your cover, Colin
The whole song Benedictus Deus is on YT now. Hope everyone buys this song. Totally worth 99 cents! Thanks to my friend Vivere for letting me know about this!
I know there are always people to rejoice to see commercial songs made public by unknown non linked to the production, but for me it's a form of theft.

Patrick but without this form of advertising then most people would have no idea about this soundtrack . At the end of the day i dont see PR Libera complaining as they are useless and we are doing there job for them . This album has been out since Feb and not a single mention off anybody in Libera and thats how bad the Libera team are at promoting the band . We as fans are doing a better job which speaks volumes . So this video gets the message out to people on youtube as not everybody goes on the forums.
Even the Av yahoo group seems to just copy and paste stuff off her now and post it on there site.
It's not a Libera production, it's not Libera's job to do the promotion of this album, but it's not the subject.
There is a slight difference between making something known, and giving for free a full item that should be sold.
If the purpose of the poster of this video is just to promote the song that's great, but this should not to be at detriment of the commercial element.
The song on Youtube sould have been cut to 30 ou 40 secondes, as are the samples on Amazon and others sites.
By giving the full song for free, my point of view is that the poster is directly the cause of loose of money for all the commercial chain, including the various artists involved.
I am shocked to see people making available for free things that are not free, and I am shocked to see other people thank the firsts.
For me it is simply theft.
But I don't want to start here again the same kind of discussion that was already debated on previous threads, like the one about the Peace Album, I'm not trying to convince anyone, I just express my views.

It is the Libera PR's job to make sure fans know there is a soundtrack out that they appear on. Who else's job is it?
And seeing as they are not doing this then fans promoting the cd via youtube for me is a must. It makes the wider Libera fan base aware that there is a new soundtrack out that Libera play a big part on.
And i dont get how its theft?, its not been uploaded for free on a download site and if you ripped it off Youtube the quality would not be that great so the real fans will want a good quality so will download it via amazon. If Libera is going to continue to get work on soundtracks and stuff then them selling well is a must and this will help them so i dont see the harm. I have downloaded the songs offically but i have no issue with people uploading them on youtube as its a proven promotinal tool and it works.
I found and fell in love with Libera through a YouTube link. I cannot speak for Mark McKenzie, but I would think he'd be thrilled to have additional advertising and a newly found fan base.
My point of view is that "fans" shouldn't give themselfs the position of commercial managers. It's not fans's role to decide what is good for artists, they are big enough for that.
When an artist or a rights's owner choose to make something available for free, like Lady Gaga with new songs or videos, it's his choice, he want that.
But till the artist or the rights's owner have chose to not let something freelly available, and instead his asking money to have it, then I can't understand that "fans" decide by their own to overpass the will of the legal owner or artist.
In the case we are talking about, neither Mark McKenzie nor the disk editor nor the distributors have chose to make full songs available for free, so shouldn't fans do.
If fans are so enthousiats that they can't restraint themself to share anything even commercial materials, then they should at least not share full tracks, to not compromise the sales.
Despite what I have read above, the quality of a ripped audio from youtube is sure good enough for a large amount of people thant will then avoid to spend their 0.99 cents to bu the track. And ripping an audio for youtube is know as easy as 2 mouse's clicks...

Sure ! As long as Libera Itself is putting online plenty of videos, these videos are intended to be seen, and shared
But we are here talking about fans rushing to put online themself the tracks of a new CD just released, against the will of the artist or legal owner to not have these tracks freelly available, is not the same thing.
Brilliant! Libera singing like a Cathedral choir for the win! Or is FTW official words already (like OMG and LOL)?
Wish they used the full songs like they do in other soundtrack CDs as opposed to the song as it appeared on the movie. But it's all good. Wonder why they never tweeted this.

We know there is another choir, just not sure what songs they are on. On Mark McKenzie's website it says "large symphony orchestra, choir and boys choir." http://www.markmckenzie.org/mm_notes.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also on the tradebit site it distinguishes between the Symphonic and Choral Music Conductor Gordon Johnson and the Libera Boys Choir Conductor Robert Prizeman.I don't know who the adult choir is though. Bet Jimmy or Fan de LoK could find out.

Well good luck to them if they can find out because I sure as hell couldn't.
And don't waste your time Googling it, you won't find it! After drawing a blank I went out on a limb and decided to email Mr McKenzie. He replied with the following:
Hi Andy,
Thanks for the very kind note. There are some friendship and union reasons why I've with held that information. The best musicians are in LA but we can't always use them.
Thanks again Andy; Carpe Dium!
