It does but, it also doesn't. I might be being thrown off by his maturing voice but there's just something I can't put my finger on. What I would say is that the accent/pronunciation is very mini-Ben.
I do think its Ben but if not they have made it a better song , this works with a stronger treble as its a dark song , same way as Exsultate would work better with a younger treble who has a more innocent tune , kinda like Steven G in Dies Irae . Ben sounds to muture to now pull off such a song.

Is Exsultate Ben as well then? I really need to get a grip on his new voice (and if that and Lacry and Sancti and Time are all Ben it seems to be a bit of a Ben overkill on the released tracks). Exsultate sounds less like Ben than Lacry does to me!
Help

Exsultate is 100% Ben no doubt at all
P,s this is gonna be a Mini Ben album but we all guessed that, clearly Ed has been overlooked.

So, if almost everything is by Ben that we have heard to date it would set Ben up on the way to having the most solo parts on any album to date.
Tom had 6 on New Dawn (ave maria, air, rest in peace, love and mercy, may the road rise up and never be alone).
Ben would have Sanctissima, Time, Exsultate, Lacrymosa (and depending on who you believe some also credit him with Ave Virgo too).

I did think Ben opened Ave Virgo but hearing it in my earphones now im not sure but confident its him on the other 2 tracks.
But we know Robert Prizman does like to bleed certain boys dry, thats why and a few others got so frustrated with Tom as it was like " Mix it up alittle" as he used him time and time again. He did it with Steven , he did it with Michael and Big Ben and sometimes it does get to much , its like your being force feed a certain boy.

If Tom's final solo in 'You Were There' was indicative of him being bled dry as you suggest, then we really would have had something special had he been on top form.
Can you imagine anyone else singing 'You were there' now? Although Josh took up the reigns well with it after Tom's voice change, it was still a brilliant collaboration between Prizeman and Muramatsu to write this song specifically with Tom's vocals in mind.
There will always be a small core of boys over a 2/3 year period that will principly lead most of the solo's on their CD's and feature preeminently in interviews/tv appearances etc... it's been a key factor in their success so far, and I can't see any reason to change it now.

Exsultate wrote:There's a light up on the moutains
And the day is at the spring
When our eyes shall see the wonders
And the glory its will bring
Exsultate domino in lætitia
Et cantate domino gloria
Seculæ seculorum,
Alleluia !
Hark! we hear a distant music
And it comes with fuller swell;
'Tis the glorious song of heaven
And of this it will dispell
Exsultate domino in lætitia
Et cantate domino gloria,
Seculæ seculorum,
Alleluia !
Exsultate domino omnis populi, alleluia !
Jubilate domino omnis terra, alleluia !
Exsultate domino in lætitia
Et cantate domino gloria,
Seculæ seculorum,
Alleluia !
Angeli et archangeli

exsultate
Hark! we hear a distant music
And it comes with fuller swell;
'Tis the glorious song of heaven
And of this it will dispell
Exsultate domino in lætitia
Et cantate domino gloria,
Seculæ seculorum,
Alleluia !
We hear a distant music
it comes with fuller swell
For the angels here are human,
Not the shining hosts above;
For the drum beats of the army
and our heart beats for our lord.
Exsultate domino omnis populi, alleluia !
Jubilate domino omnis terra, alleluia !
Exsultate domino in lætitia
Et cantate domino gloria,
Seculæ seculorum,
Alleluia !
Angeli et archangeli

Only listened once so no informative opinion but
Ave Virgo - me like a lot

Hoping it's Ed but not sure, lovely voice though.#edit# 2nd time listen and it has to be Ed.
Exsultate - me no like

#edit# not as bad as first thought (I'm probably in the wrong mood for this perky number right now). I'm not thinking this is Ben though - need to listen to Time again.
Lacrymosa - me think ok, didn't need another version of this old song

Does sound similar to Ben but.....voice not quite same as time. New boy? #edit# It sounds like Ben but, well, I'm just not sure.Am I going mad? Is it definitely Ben? Help?
Fountain - me like

No idea who sings it.
Some people have mentioned they think Tom sang this or that. I don't hear him singing any lead vocals, I'm going to try listening for his voice in the lower supporting areas though.
By the way, although in many ways it's nice to hear the songs now, am I the only one who is a little deflated by this? To me it removes the excitement of waiting for the new album. Also, the fact that people have been able to rip these tracks in an mp3 format means there are many (not us on Dreams) who will never buy the album now.
Personally, being so close to release date for Peace, I think they should have just left us with Sancti and Time - this is overkill.
I listened to them all more than once and...I hated Exsultate! its laaaaaame! it makes me think of merry little elves climbing up on a house and decorating it! ahhhh!!!!! and it's not good for Ben's voice. --And Lacrymosa! why do another version??! and I think it's somebody else singing..maybe it's Ben at the beginning but the rest doesn't sound like him.
The Fountain and Ave Virgo are pretty, but too slow.
And yes, this does kind of take the excitement out of it for me...in fact, I'm beginning to think I don't want this album.

i am enjoying reading what everyone thinks about the songs!
i am so excited about all the new Libera stuff, and it makes me so happy that others share my passion for their music.
can't wait to learn who is doing what solo, to see who is right!!!!

Ave Virgo.mp3 - 3.55MB

Lacymosa.mp3 - 3.28MB
The Fountain.mp3 - 3.26MB
Enjoy!
P.S. I'm so eager to learn who the soloist is on 'The Fountain' because the voice is crackerjack as far as I'm concerned, and if it's a relative new soloist, then I can see him being a big player in future songs/performances by Libera. We might have discovered another truly exceptional soloist here. If it's already an established soloist, then they have just added another bow to their already impressive record in the group.
thx for sharing, Jimmy!

after listening to them over and over again, my favorite is still: Ave Virgo

I believe they ae saying secula et seculorum, not Seculæ seculorum as I believe the latter will be pronounced as seculae with a long i if using Classical Latin, or with the short e sound if using Ecclesiastical pronunciation.
I'll try to dig up something for the

Regarding Exsultate, it is definitely a mood thing. It makes me
want to bring out my shaleighlee (assuming that's how to spell
it), guzzle some Irish coffee and do my best Michael Flatley impression (not pretty).
Me likee The Fountain too... Both in terms of melodic and of vocal effort.
Oh, and Yorkie - I am agreeing with the overkill (we've heard half the album). But in spite of the fact I have a 34MB file
of the most recent version of Lacrymosa on my desktop, I am still
gonna pick up multiple copies of Peace. Libera CDs not only make great gifts, they can turn receivers into supporters.
