Oh, has it been removed. Pretty much more of the same, how wonderful the reviewer was, how all the fans are just apologists for child abusers, none of us had the balls to actually review the music ourselves, etc, etc, etc. He was certainly frothing at the mouth and picked a fight with each and every one of us who had dared to suggest that he was not all there in the head. I'm assuming this level of hate and aggression is from a man

i took this quote from the article
"but it’s clear that if ever there was an ensemble that had no cares for what the critics thought about them, it’s Libera."
yep, they really don't care what critics such as this have to say. they are doing what they love to do and that's that. critics or not they keep going.

I had a part-time job as a music critique before, so I don't really read what critiques say. Reviews are all opinions. If I have to read someone's opinion, I'd rather stick with mine :p I read this one just now only because it has become a hot topic here and Yahoo AV group.
I just have to say.. wow. Libera's music has purified my heart so much that I actually forgot that there are sad and ugly individuals out there. I just hope the boys don't get to read that garbage.

Ah well, I can tell you what me and Phil posted because I had the thread open still
me:
Thank you for taking the time to reply to the comments posted thus far Daniel, although I think you have still not addressed the real issue - you actually failed to review the album.
Hardly anything you wrote was about the music; I don't personally believe you have to like it and indeed most people versed in the tradition of classical music like yourself despise Libera. Just be honest.
I still fail to see how clothing can appear to be forced and unnatural - is this your opinion of all choirs? Would King's or the boys of the Chapel Royal receive this same criticism? Do you bemoan the fact that members of an orchestra wear evening dress? I feel you are being somewhat disingenuous with your reasons here.
As it happens, I think it is one of their weaker albums. It certainly does not reach the heights of Luminosa of Free. But there are some songs of merit in the mix and it would have been nice to have read your opinions on those.
Unless of course you are like some other commentators to this thread who's hatred of a group of young lads who enjoy singing is at such an extreme that they spend their time wandering around the internet posting their bile and nonsense.
Phil:
"The monastic clothing is unnecessary"....
This is but one (albeit a minor) example of the choir 'innovating', being somehow different to all the other 'me too' choirs that exist.
Their original and innovative music is another.
On this issue their albums are littered with original pieces based on classical works.
Have you actually listened to any of the albums?
You suggest more focus be put on the music.
In what way?
You also say the music is unchallenging.
Perhaps you could define what you mean by innovation, give examples of what you feel the choir should be doing.
Maybe they should be like all the other 'samey' choirs and record the millionth version of Miserere?
"The photography is designed to create an impression of camaraderie"
There is no need to 'create' that impression. The boys are friends as well as colleagues.
Clothing is a part of the team building effort, creating a sense of belonging and pride and also a 'professional' image
As Robert Prizeman said, the objective is to make the boys feel that they are part of a gang, a team.
Maybe your choirmaster was a poor team leader?
Mac, you are allowing your bitterness to take over your life and it is getting embarrassing now.
Robert Prizeman is no fool and would not put forward a boy if he felt that child was not capable of delivering the goods just because he may bephotogenic. Ben Crawley and Liam O'Kane were not what you would call 'classically handsome' but they are acknowledged as being two of the finest soloists.
Maybe a few fans, certainly not the majority by any means are a little over the top but your hatred of all things Libera is eating away at you.
You need to move on.
Nobody is taken in by this nonesense, apart from a few sad individuals (or are you alone in this?) who trawl the 'net spreading poison to whoever is silly enough to listen.
Still, fairs fair. It was me that grassed his post up for implying that RP was abusing the boys by saying that all of us fans who objected to a negative review were condoning abuse of choirboys by catholic priests, etc. It really was getting on to towards that and I'm not joking.

Hey guys, I think the nutter might be reading this very thread - he walks amongst us! My very first post has gone now and nobody was bothered about that for two days! I didn't have a go at anybody either, just disagreed with the review. Evidently he read it was me that busted him and he went for revenge
How pathetic is that

. I wonder who it could be? Is it Sarge? Is it Rosemary? Henry the mild mannered janitor?

I was really hoping this
'Mac' character would have found his way into a mental instistution by now, driven there by his own insanity and the dark demons festering away inside his very troubled mind.
He's posted on Youtube, and he's even more vile and vulgar with his comments when allowed the freedom of anonymity that Youtube provides.

Well he'd only be able to read on this forum, because as soon as he posted and adopted the same tactics he's been using for the past few years on the net. Well his account would be terminated pretty quickly I would have thought

Yeah, I know who you're talking about.
My CD came today though, and I still love it just as much as when I first heard the songs! My mom couldn't have liked it any more, either.

Adoro Te is definitely moving up on my list of favorites, though!

Yorkie, mind if you explain this again? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding it, sorry. I'm just curious. What did he say? And what did you respond with?
It's weird that they took down your previous comment and Phil's. Because I read it and it seemed pretty fair to me.

No, I am pretty sure it was Mini James. Can someone who was at the CC service please say for sure?

Hi TEB, I'm sorry if you cannot see them because of the slow connection, but in YouTube, there are many videos on the Salva Me performance during the morning service and they show Stefan singing Salva Me with his piercing voice.

Boy, all I did was go away for the weekend and look at all the drama.
Trust me everyone, if I find out who this person is on this board, they will disappear rather quickly. If there is anyone who is a pedophile(American spelling), it sounds as if this Mac person is. He seems to have alot of information about a group he doesn't like. And, as far as us fans only listening to the music with our eyes, well, the first song I
heard of Libera's was Dies Irae and it was weeks until I ever saw a picture of the boys who sang it. I will admit to having alot of pics of the boys but I also have alot of pics of the guys in TSO. People tend to collect pics of those who they admire.
Yorkie, my British slang is somewhat lacking. What does "slag off" mean? I do have an idea and if it is what I think it is, perhaps you should tell me in a pm.
