Right little entrepreneur isn't he. Good on him, hope he makes a lot of sales. I don't know how the 'buy it' function works on myspace, I've never tried it. Does it take you to an online vendor (i.e itunes, amazon) or do you enter your card details and download it straight from myspace?

If i was too buy it then i would want a safe vender. No way do i give card details out willy nilly.

Also im guessing it will be a slighty more professinal recording if he plans to make cash out of it.

He might get a little help from his Libera contacts to record it in the studio. Don't think it will be digitally mastered though, that can cost a pretty sum.

yeah, i was thinking about that too since Ben C and Tom always (i think, based on Ben's comment on Tom's MySpace) meet at Sundays, they probably record it in the Libera's studio and if that's the case, it would be more appropriate if the income is split between Tom as the songwriter, Ben as the assistant of recording, and The Church / Libera as the studio owner.

Hmm... Unless Tom makes some serious money out of it, all the money should go to him. Big Ben as his friend probably wouldn't mind.

He is not going to make much money. He cant have the price to high as people simply wont buy it so it wil be interesting to see how he handles this.

I don't know how current this is anymore, but with regards to selling music via myspace this site has some info http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... tml?cat=33
You're not going to make a ton of money with Snocap's music service—not at first, anyways. They take forty five cents on each song sold, so at most you're making fifty four cents per song (you should never charge more than 99 cents total for a song). Sure, it'll add up, but only when you're moving a ton of digital units, which is why you want to price your stuff as low as you can and really promote the hell out of it—it's all about using the technology to get more people to your page and more people interested in what you're doing.

The big money will come with time, once you've built up a good base of fans that will do what they can to support you; when that time comes, make sure you've got a quality product and be willing to put some work into it.
Ultimately, with some hard work, selling your music on Myspace will be fun and, if you invest some real time, even profitable.
Korea can't get enough of Tom in their myspace charts!! http://www.myspace.com/music/charts/jap" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... nres/songs

He's inside the top 10 in Japan's myspace charts too.

Well done to Tom, he's now passed over 100,000 profile views in under 3 weeks since creating his myspace account.

Cashmere is back online as free listening, just as before.

I have not noticed changes but I may be wrong.

He also deleted his post about making a version to be sold. Maybe he have changed his mind ?
