Thank Jimmy for posting the recordings from the Moody Church service. I just now got a chance to view them. Reminds me of the concert last night for some reason

And on a side note - this is my 50th post which means I'm no longer a newbie :)

I was thinking the same thing when I saw them arrive for the shows.
When the boys got off the bus for the concerts in Minneapolis and Chicago in addition to the shirt and trousers, they were
also wearing their jackets! Probably in St. Paul as well but I didn't personally see them arrive at that show.

Just a comment about the boys wearing their jackets. I spoke with one of the local people at a Canada concert. She had been helping at some of the concert venues. She said that the boys put their jackets on backwards over heir robes to protect them such as when they eat snacks during intermission. I remember observing that at the Chattam concert. That may be why they were wearing their jackets in Chicago etc. Nevertheless, I do feel sorry for them in the heat. At least the Texas venues should be air conditioned.

I'm a bit concerned about how the boys (and their chaperones!) will handle the Texas heat. We are having a record breaking year, I don't know the last day it was under 100 degrees. And here it does not cool down at night. I REALLLLLLY hope they have only indoor activities planned for when they're here. Considering the London newspaper I subscribe to (yay for the Kindle) describes a high of 86 as an "extreme heat wave"...I hope they are prepared for it. Last summer was lovely *sigh*

And yes, having been raised in Texas I am baffled by the fact that central air is not normal everywhere. You could quite literally die here without it. The venues here will most definitely be air conditioned, quite possibly to the point of being cold (like the building where I work :D). So at least that won't be an issue, but if they are planning things to do that are outdoors, I hope they wear their white short sleeved shirts and have sunscreen and plenty of water (hint hint to any Libera spies reading the forum ;-) )

Nope. Sorry Bruce, but this time it has nothing to do with eating or protecting their robes. I was dripping hot last night after the Chicago concert, and Kavana came out in the blue pants, light blue shirt and his blue jacket on with the zipper in the front! (Do we have a smiley face icon that's on fire?) And look at the Madden's picture. Kavana's got his jacket on there, too.

Oh, Jenn. We are all so looking forward to 106-110 degrees there every day.

I agree! Am really hoping the Texas churches let everyone line up inside. They're big churches, so they should have the space.

Looks like I won't be needing my hoodie  It's been too hot for me to go outside in anything less than a tank top and shorts!
I don't see how the boys aren't passing out wearing long sleeves, plus jackets?!

Hi, all. I'm the newest new guy here. :)

My wife, kids and I went to the concert last year in Dallas and my wife went to the one the next day in Fort Worth. We've been Libera fans for a couple of years now so we were thrilled (and shocked) when we found out that they were coming back and were going to be singing in the church we were members at for 8 years (Stonebriar)!

Off the top of my head, Stonebriar is a nice sized facility. The stage is large so the boys should have no problems moving around. However, the acoustics aren't that great. I sang in the choir and you just don't get that "concert hall" feeling. They do have an electronic acoustic assisting system so I hope they've got it tuned well. I don't mean to scare anyone off - it will sound good but maybe not what you've been used to if you've heard them in a nice acoustic-friendly hall. And I know Libera has some electronic enhancement equipment that should help as well.

When the boys sing in the church service the morning of Aug. 7, expect lots of applause. Some churches are virtually silent after songs are done but Stonebriar is a very clappy church.

There is plenty of room outside the sanctuary so lining up beforehand inside should be no problem. There is a very large atrium which will be very comfortable.

Anyway, if anyone has any questions about Stonebriar, feel free to ask.

I am fairly local and I saw and heard what you guys did too, so I gave up. Guess I should have kept trying, but I got super bored with it. Sorry if I could have gotten it! I am curious as to what they sang during that service though. Ah well, like I'm sure everyone else is saying, at least we have Moody!

I remember reading on the Rockefeller Chapel website that for the purpose of events such as weddings, etc., there are gathering rooms which are air conditioned. This is probably why the boys came out wearing jackets after the concert. It would not have been advisable for them to go directly from a stifling hot chapel into an air conditioned space and be hit with too drastic a change in temperature without putting on some kind of jacket. It would have kept them from getting chilled too quickly. Perhaps my theory is incorrect, but it is just a theory. I did feel for Libera and the musicians that night. They performed beautifully although they must have been practically melting up there. In the U.K., they are not used to that kind of heat wave. At one point, I noticed that in one of the choir stalls where one of the chaperones was sitting, one of the new boys was sitting out one of the songs (new ones do that occasionally). He was making vain attempts to cool himself off by fanning himself with his hands. Poor little fellow! Anyway, as I said, despite the crushing heat, Libera delivered a wonderful performance. They are to be congratulated for their efforts under such difficult conditions.

Yep, they probably had an unusually long day on Sunday must have ventured into the 15hr+ mark you can see why nobody in their right mind would demand a post concert meet and greet from the boys after such a long day.

However...speaking of which... there has been an interesting post by a member called Craig over at the Yahoo AV forum who has engaged in a discussion with Stephen Philipp (Ben's dad) and he hints and only 'hints' at the possibility that the right measures may be in place on Wednesday at St Louis to support a post concert M&G/CD signing etc...(please note: This is far from confirmed)

...also he advised he's going to reply back and post a few items from that discussion which may help clarify the relationship between the libera and it's fans. So worth checking up on that, i'm sure it will filter down to here.

I can see the thing about wearing the jacket on the bus - the air con on there could make it quite chilly hence the need for the jacket and if they got used to air con in churches last year perhaps they thought a short walk from bus to church wouldn't be a problem.

The shirt and trousers look is part of their uniform and it probably has several uses - obviously it helps the chaperones to spot them but it also removes pressure on the boys from poorer homes. Some parents might not be able to afford a vast wardrobe of nice clothing; having set clothing provided means that nobody is singled out. I think it is a great idea, perhaps they just need a few more options for the warmer climates :D
