I agree about looks over talent and I often wonder why Liam didn't get the chance to do more than the odd solo, he certainly has a good voice (and he ain't shabby in the looks department if I say so myself (and I probably should pretend that I can't tell like men normally do when commenting on these things ). But I think Ed is the biggest loser overall. It wasn't until I heard them live in Edinburgh that I realised how good he was, but like you say, his looks aren't going to win him the screamy teeny fans that Tom and Josh get. IMHO he is a better singer than Josh and possibly Tom.

Yep poor old Ed , coz is he not more of a senior memeber than even Mini Ben ? so i will find it interesting to see how many solo Ed gets this album , as most of us seem to agree on the fact this could be Mini Ben's album which would be unfair on Ed.

Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with looks. There may be so many things that happen behind the scenes as to why some singers get more solos or as to who's popular. At least that's what I hope. All the members in my eyes are wonderful and should get the attention that they all deserve. I feel bad if it is based on looks though. I guess I always like to think that Libera is in some way better than all those other artists out there. I guess its weird to think that way ,huh!

I did not say Prizeman picks solo's on looks just the fan base as a whole is becoming younger and some boys clearly are more popular than others.

I haven't noticed any problems. Do you mean that the post was posted today, but it says that it was posted on Saturday?

On the main index page to the forum the last post is by a "Tom413" and post was made on Saturday , then when you go into the sub forum for this bit , it says last post was Dani at 7.48pm . So its not showing up for me when somebody posts.

That is weird. Maybe you can contact one of the administrators and they can help you. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I'm not very computer savvy( I don't even think "savvy" is a word)

Thanks i will reboot and see if that fixes it, just wanted to see if it was the same for everyone or if it was just me, Is that Kavana in your photo ?

I agree with the comments about Ed and Liam getting less "attention" than Tom or Josh, for example. I think it partly has to do with the way they connect with the fans onstage and on interviews. Ed, especially, seems to be a bit more shy in that way, so maybe that is why he doesn't get as much attention, even if he is clearly and extremely talented singer. I really, really hope Ed gets a chance to show what he can do on this upcoming album. Ed has been a member for many years now and I would be shocked if he did not get a special solo when the time comes for his treble voice to fade.

Also, I do like the whole concept of giving long-time choristers who were major soloists a last song before their treble voices fade. "Far Away" was Michael's, "You Were There" was Tom's, "I Am the Day" (possibly) was Ben C.'s, and "Time" seems to be Josh's. Hopefully Liam will have one last solo, as well as Ed to commemorate their wonderful voices and contributions to Libera.

Wish I could actually see the video. Dial up and Youtube do not work together at all. Oh well.

I totally agree with this statement about Ed he was always overshadowed by Josh and Tom. As I discussed with some people in california Ed is/was the backbone of Libera

Yeah, I was able to get it from the new wallpaper that fan_de_lok made. Hope the rebooting works.

It's not really a fair comparison to trade off Ed's voice with Josh, as they are very different. Ed has always been first treble (very high vocal range), were Josh has been a little lower and subtle. Tom while being a similar range to Ed, also has a different style to his singing. It's very difficult and a little simplistic to trade them off against each other before then declaring a winner.

As plumpuff6 says, maybe not all the boys want the spotlight and are just happy to carry on powering away their vocals in the less prominent background. I would think in a very short space of time, the seniors in Libera would have a fair idea on those boys who they feel can handle the TV and media work and take it in their stride.

I think we should all just put trust and faith into Robert Prizeman and co as to who get's the solos and for what reason. It's no earth shattering secret that Libera has promoted certain boys in place of others. Every group, weather that be rock/pop/vocal/rap etc.... will have those 'headline' individuals. It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I watched the video slowly and I'm sure that neither Flynn nor Matthew was in it.

Other than Josh and Ben who stood alone, there seemed to be three groups.

I have never seen Matthew perform live, but he doesn't look like the unknown chorister to me. I'm sure Flynn is missing because there wasn't anyone else in the video.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong on this because I have high hopes for Flynn in Libera. He has always been a pleasure to watch and I think he was starting to earn his spurs in last year's concerts. Would love to know who the two unknowns are but I suppose we will have to wait until April for that....

You're right. I mistook a quick moving shot of Ed for Flynn, they have similar hairstyles currently. Anyway, Flynn is in one of the photoshoots so he's probably still there but maybe couldn't make the video shoot.

Ed has been with Libera for a long time. He joined shortly after Michael H. and Tom. He's been singing solos for at least 4 years. He was one of the main soloists at Leiden. I'm willing to bet that if you go back and add up the number of solos sung over the years he compares pretty well with Josh and Mini-Ben. I haven't done a survey so I don't really know that for certain. It's just my hunch.
