I think I heard once that Ben p is actually an American citizen and that his dad is as well. Something about his dad wanted his children from the same nationality as he so the philipp kids were all born in the us.
Indeed - see the 'Zak left?' thread near the bottom of the News board - page 5ish iirc.
Benedict Philipp is actually from the Philippines. His last name is an abbreviation of Philippines, hence Philipp. It's proven when he sang Bayan K'o in his concert in the Philippines. His solo lyrics were, in Tagalogue:
Ang bayan kong pilipinas
Lupain ng gonto't bulaklak
which translates in English to:
My country the Philippines
Land of gold and flowers
The Philipp family may be from the Philippines but they are also American citizens.

Did we ever find out if Mrs Philipp is also American or is she British? If she's British then I reckon Ben gets his singing from her and his brash, show off, performing skills from his dad.
that should stoke the flames a bit
Will that do for you Deshaun?
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

No, I haven't yet found out about his mum.
Sir Elton John certainly is sort of a brash show off. But wait, isn't he British??

Indeed Sir Reg is British and I could speculate on the reasons for his flamboyancy but I probably best not Plus he only went a bit mental when he started to play huge gigs in the States so I'm blaming that on you lot as well
