As part of the Saint Thomas Church Bicentennial Weekend festivities, Concerts at Saint Thomas offers a free concert exploring the wealth of music written for Saint Thomas and its Choir of Men and Boys. This includes commissions by contemporary composers, as well as works of Saint Thomas Directors of Music spanning the decades. Accompanied by The Saint Thomas Brass, this concert truly celebrates our unique choral heritage.
If you happen to be in the vicinity of Sofia, Bulgaria this weekend, be sure to attend "The Boys Are Singing" choir festival. Some performances will also be posted to the following YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/@theboysaresinging

All 3 physical CD's are available immediately directly from the church, while digital downloads can be acquired only for the first two albums from Acis (scroll down until you find the CD cover art). The Byrd album is on the Signum Classics label and isn't due for official release until Dec 1, but the digital download can be pre-ordered directly from Presto or Signum Classics.

Was this week-end at St Roch Church, Paris, by the choir of 'Academie Musicale de Liesse'.
Thoughts ?
Pretty good soloist. They're very active on social media but rarely post video, so this was a rare chance to hear them.

I was impressed with their Leeds United ties but less so with the singing.

OMG Their outfits are so ugly I found at times during concerts I could only get focused on that
I usually like to hear their soloists but not so much the whole sound of the choir. I have not attended their concerts for a while.
I've been at a concert from "Les petits chanteurs à la croix de bois"(Little singers of Paris) in February though and it was pretty good ! Got to witness the choirmaster's special directing movements first hand
I've been to the main Eisteddfod a few times but never the Urdd one, perhaps I should. Fun fact, when I was 6yo I sung in the GLC building with a Welsh choir, which means that, by scant meters, I have sung in a building closer to the seat of the UK government than Libera have.
Impressive performance by the boys. It's always weird for me to hear classics sung in Welsh but a lovely "Lift Thine Eyes".
Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Oxford are currently in the US, back under the direction of Stephen Darlington, who supposedly retired in 2018, but stepped in to direct St John's after Nethsingha went to the Wabbey. He has obviously agreed to step in again, back at Christ Church, after Grahl went to Trinity! I heard the choir under Stephen's direction before he "retired" and it was a great sound, including a fabulous European premier of Howard Goodall's 'Invictus: A Passion' at St John's Smith Square in May 2018, which included future YCOTY winner Alexander Olleson.
I think there are more dates over in the US, so if you are close to one of the concert venues, I would recommend giving them a try!
