I've been testing the new site all weekend and nobody has reported any immediate issues. I'm thinking that I should do it this weekend

If I do I will need to close the site for maybe two hours so that nothing posted around the time of the upgrade will be lost. All posts from the last couple of years up to the time I temporarily close the site will remain intact.
Who agree's that I should do this ?

I've actually performed the update about 5 times now on my test server, to ensure nothing is lost and the update goes without issues.

I have to consider the community. After all it belongs to everyone which is why i am asking.

Just do it, but do not forget to redirect from the old Forumadress to the new one. It can take some time until the DNS are aware about the new IP.

Hi Paul, I have been without internet at home and only briefly been able to log in. Just to let you know thank you so much for your hard work for the site and I'll reply more fully when I have internet at home!

I'm having big issues with youtube video's on the forum, its not that I can't embed videos, its the older posts that are a problem.

Where the video was. i'm just getting the text:

I dont want to update untill i've fixed this. i'm working hard for a solution. Many others are also having problems with their phpbb updates

But the title on the vote says 'tonight' - if it's posted on a Monday and says 'tonight' you can hardly blame us for thinking it was Monday night

This youtube problem is most anoying. Ill update as soon as I get it fixed. But I think a 5am start this morning is holding me back a bit. Ill try and resolve this issue as quicly as posible.

No rush Paul - don't let this eat up your life. It's great that you are so eager but we can get by just fine on the old site so don't bust a gut. the main thing is that the site won't crash out of existence now and that's the main thing.
