Same here, but not all the time. Getting logged in usually takes longer than normal, but once logged in it differs, sometimes slow, sometimes fine.

Mine is very... very...slow as well... On my desktop, which I'm on right now, it took nearly 5 minutes just to get to the site index, and the same goes for one of my laptops, on the other it only takes a tad bit longer than normal, but for me that's still too long.

I have put the site into debug mode.

Now, there is information at the bottom of the page. See attached image.
When you experience slow pages, could you check the information and report back on time, queries and memory usage.

I'm trying to determine if the delays are with the server or the configuration.

Thanks.

Where to see the attached image ? :o

I just made this test :
- to click on the "Board index" link, on top left hand corner,
- during 11 seconds nothing occured, Firefox was just waiting with the litte rond turning around in the tab while at bottom screen firefox was displaying "waiting for libera-dreams.com"
- and then finally the page loaded (very quickly).
- the debug infos were then : Time : 0.198s | 11 Queries | GZIP : Off | Memory Usage: 5.04 MiB | Explain

The very short time of 0,2 seconds correspond of the time needed for the page to load on screen, the debug infos are not showing the previous 11 seconds of waiting... seems more to be like a slow dns problem than a site problem, no ?

The delays are variable. The worst delay is when I try to go from a thread back to the board index. Last night when I tried to do that the delay was an average opf more than 30 seconds. I discovered the if I used the "jump to" box in the lower right corner I could reduce the delay considerably.

Why use the [attachment ] tag ?
shouldn't the classic [img ] be simpler ?

I may have corrected the speed problems, so I hope it will not be needed now ;)

Re: Site being slow

Sorry to up this old topic but I'm feeling the forum being a little slow since a few weeks.

Per example for my first access of the day it may took 5-10 seconds for the forum the be displayed.
Clicking on different topics, the display time varies again from 5 to 10 seconds, it's not always the same.

At first I thought it was due to my ISP but I have seen the same delays from my work connection which uses another ISP.

Am I the only one to feel the forum being slowed down since weeks ?

For me it works fine.
Can you do a trace route or pathping and send me the result as PM?
  • Trace route:
  • Open a command window and type at the prompt: tracert libera-dreams.com
  • Path ping:
  • Open a command window and type at the prompt: pathping -p 1 -w 1000 -q 1 libera-dreams.com

Thank you for the suggestion :)
I will do that tonight when back at home, at my office I can't send ICMP outside our local network.

Edit : I'm now at home but it's much more late than I thought (23:00).
The forum is currently normally fast now for me, I mean each click has its reaction in 1-2 seconds.
The tracert and pathping don't show any excessive lag.

I have saved the current results and I will compare them with new tests I will do tomorrow or this week-end, at a moment where the forum appears for me as slowed.
I will send you all that later Viabuona, thank you :)
