Libera's NEWBIES!
Well, a thread for the little fledglings, our Libera Newbies!
Also in March 2011 Libera proudly presented: DRUM-ROLL
Jude & Eoghan!
Eoghan who surprised us now in such a wonderful way. Isn't it great that it went so fast for a boy in Libera from joining to become a soloist? Joined & 4 month later a soloist, what a talented boy!
And now in July 2011 the group proudly *starting drum-roll* presents
Isaac, Ben (A new Ben!), Thomas (A Thomas again!), Michael (Once more), Orlando & newbie Matthew Madine!
So many new faces! I'm dying of curiosity about them!
I wish the best start for all of the Libera-mini-boys!

Don't know, but 'Old' Mini-Ben has not been Mini anymore for a long time (I remember in Dublin in 2009 he did his speech and introduced himself as Mini-Ben and the guy next to me whispered to me and his friends 'Not so Mini anymore' )Szepilona wrote:they're so cute! Also, 'Dwarfs' is maybe not the nicest nickname for newbies.....

Very nice post, Sue, but it also put a smile on my face when I read about 'Dwarfs'!maartendas wrote:

i have heard that mini ben is now called medium ben because of the new boy
dolorosa, flumenosa, desolata, lacrimabila-
the water sighs for me
Through teardrops now I see
The streaming water knows
The fountain overflows
To cry for all, to wash all sorrows in waves of peace and love
Free my thirsty soul again
O living fountain

Awww, so cute! Some of them look so young Really adorable. It's so nice to see new faces coming into Libera, esp. quite alot of them!

Re: Libera's NEWBIES!
He looks like a micro-Ben. That would still leave room for a nano-Ben.
Re: Libera's NEWBIES!
Agreed that is was meant in the nicest possible way, but the term dwarf or dwarfism is a medical condition in children which prevent them from growing properly.Sue wrote: I wish the best start for all of the Libera-Dwarf's!
I prefer mini or small people.

Re: Libera's NEWBIES!
Actually , my first thought was about mythology.
I think I found a good definition:
Dwarf - ''a legendary creature resembling a tiny old man; lives in the depths of the earth and guards buried treasure''
How cool is that? (especially'' legendary'' and ''guards buried treasure'' )

My first though was also something of legend. Something small and ugly!
Yep that definition is accurate. The emphasis being on a tiny old man Meaning a child that could never grow up.
But in context yes it was said in the nicest possible way.
Tiny old men guarding treasure?
I would say angels from heaven myself

Re: Libera's NEWBIES!
Thanks for giving the time to collate the new members. The only worrying thing is that the 'little people' will be the 'big people' all too soon (especaially at my age 62). Mini Ben was cited, now look at him, yet that smile is as radiant as ever.
Just think a couple of years and these boys will be performing the music we love in concert and on disc.

Re: Libera's NEWBIES!
Ha ha, yes it was meant in a nice way, for a sweet little one, you know. Could be a translation problem. Cause, in my language we have only one word (it's 'Zwerg') for that, but if I type this into google translator there are 5 british words for it. It says, I quote: 'dwarf, gnome, midget, pigmy & squirt'. Can you imagine, I had British English, also Business English, in school & vocational training for more than 10 years now. Always had good grades in this school subject, but a little dwarf-gnome-midget-pigmy-squirt makes problems
Or were my english teachers all bad?
Haha, I never called Benedict 'Mini-Ben' or something like that. Cause I knowed it's not his first name & also knowed he wouldn't stay 'Mini'. Mister Fairman wouldn't stay mini, too. The same with James M., I never called him 'Mini-James'. Or with Frederick Ingles, I would never call him 'Freddie" cause he'll grow & I don't say 'Freddie' to a 15-year-old.

well, from what i have seen, the boys really don't mind being called by their nicknames i think that they kinda get used to it.
