Summer 2012 Concerts - Jersey and Guernsey

We are delighted to announce that we will be performing in the Channel Islands over the summer,
with concerts on :
- 1st and 2nd August on Jersey and
- 7th and 8th August on Guernsey.

Maybe for someone who lives in Paris, but not for someone who spends his summer vacation in the near of Bordeaux (like me).

This is an interesting choice but not without its challenges, particularly transportation. I can get to and from Jersey from my local airport at a reasonable cost but then you have to get too and from the airport and Island hop + back to Jersey for a flight home. A car would seem essential,

Currently looking at flights in to Jersey on the 31st July and out of Jersey on the 9th. There is a ferry between Jersey and Guernsey but taking a car adds about 80 Euros to the fare so probably easier to just hire a car on each island.

Looks like there is some planning to do and is it worth looking at accommodation without knowing the location of the concerts? I also wonder if the same guy that took the Drakies to the Islands is the guy who is helping Libera?

Happy to see Libera perform over the summer, hope this new ground for them will be a worthwhile experience. I'm curious about the line-up
I feel sorry for the US fans though who had hoped for concerts over there. I guess Libera just couldn't make it moneywise.
I won't be joining the queue either, Arundel was costly - and worthwhile - enough for the time being To all who are going: give 'em your best warm welcome and ENJOY!

Limited supply of automatics on the islands. If I go, I would get a car at LHR and take the ferry from Poole. Ferry doesn't cost much more than flying and it would be much more convenient to keep the same vehicle for the whole trip.

Jersey is SUCH a beautifull island. Been there before with my choir and always wanted to go back there.. So this might be a good reason for it!! Just, how to get there!!! I have no driverslicense....

Only about an hour from my house to ferry launching point!!!!! I'll be at all four concerts!!!!!!!!!

And just like that, I am deflated. There are channel islands off the coast of California, and I assumed it was those islands.

And apparently there is very good bus system there

I'm looking also about coming by plane. it's about 300 € return from Paris, with a stop in Southampton, and 3 hours long.
Going by train + boat from Granville or Saint Malo would cost me quite the same and would be much more long and complicated.

Direct flight from local airport takes about 1:15 to Jersey and return fare can be had for £125 (£100 if i only take hand luggage)! John/Tom be warned - the roads are very small and yes, they drive on the civilized side of the road

Only if it's a tandem and you're doing the peddeling!
