How to see new entries?

Post by Sigi »

Hello from a newbie. Is that the right place for the question? How to "Show all new entries since one week"?
And how to swich off the automatic spelling correction of the Editor (or how to explain to him, that now i have fun to write in english)?

Thanx in advance

Hi Sigi,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. Unfortunately I'm not knowledgable on these technical things, with luck somebody who knows there stuff will be along to help.

I don't think the forum has any spelling editor built in to it - at least it doesn't for me as my spelling will attest! Are you sure that it isn't part of your web browser?

AS for the rest have you tried looking in the 'User Control Panel' settings? It's in the dark blue band across the top of your screen (next to 'New Messages').If you click on there and then select 'Board preferences' there are a variety of setting and default options that you can adjust. Have a play with them and see if there is anything that helps.

Regards,

Andy

You can also find this drop down menu at the bottom of each topic.

How could I persuade the programme to show me everything new when I search for the "active topics"? At the moment, only the concert category topics are listed there, but nothing from the other ones. I tried "Edit display options" in the board preferences. But it doesn't work. :(

Do you have a different view and can you help me where to change it? Many thanks!

I'll ask Paul (the Admin) if he knows.

Hi filiarheni,

This is actually a board feature I have never used

Going to have to consult the manual about this. Here is a link to the FAQ Lets see who can find the answer first :D

Ok, I accept the challenge! However, I remember that I might have another joker:
I could also ask mawi from the libera-welt forum, because we have got this very helpful feature over there. So maybe he could help us just in case ...

P.S. Thanks again, Yorkie!

My honest guess is that you can't use the active topics search in that way - it is probably programmed to just show threads that have had a certain number of posts or views in short period & only the concert threads have that.

When I log on any heading that has had a new post since I last viewed it is highlighted in red so I can quickly identify where something has new has been posted - does yours do that?

I think your right Yorkie, i'm not sure what the time frame is before a topic becomes inactive, something ill have to look at.

The forum is currently version 3.1.9 Which I am actually updating later this weekend. That reminds me, I must post to let members know that we will be closed for a couple of hours.

Cheers :D

The "new posts" button works. Isn't this what you want?
