It was a rare privilege to accompany Cai, who very kindly agreed to record a song I composed, as part of his Kickstarter campaign:



This was my first attempt at writing my own words, so I was somewhat apprehensive as to how it would turn out!

I hope some of you like it!

Why did they leave me?
Your wondrous sounds.
The music I cherished,
Will it ever be found?

You leave my soul empty,
You're no longer here.
Is this forever?
That is my fear.

Long, long ago when that joy was there.
Such magical music soared through the air.
Never a moment without your song.
Never a time when I thought you'd be gone.

Your presence, your reason, your purpose was clear.
Bringing such beauty of sound to my ear.
How could I know that one day they'd be gone?
I thought it was endless, that brightness which shone.

Then came a darkness that took you away.
Feeling you vanish lead me to dismay.
Despairing, despondent my spirit had died;
With nothing but memories to haunt me,
and taunt me, whenever I cried.

I just ordered a Cai Thomas CD the other day after I got recommendation on Amazon, I decided to check out a couple of his videos and that was enough to convince me. Should arrive sometime next week.
