The future of Meet and Greet
It has always been a tradition for the group to have a meet and greet with their beloved fans after each concert especially when they go touring.
Just a thought though, with the strict health protocols brought by the current situation,I wonder what could possibly be the future for this? Any insights?

Re: The future of Meet and Greet
Perhaps I'm being overly cautious but if it's not safe to do a meet and greet then it's probably not safe to travel internationally either. Exposure to people on the aircraft and at various attractions, theme parks, restaurants, and hotels is probably just as much of a risk I would think. Not to mention the various travel restrictions that may become a barrier to international touring.
Though, yes, if it's relatively safe to do all of the above, but there are still worries, then cancelling the meet and greet would be a reasonable precaution. I think that all bets are off as far as touring is concerned for the near future as the situation changes on a weekly basis both in the UK and internationally. While I hope that a tour to the US is possible again someday (though they are more likely to go to Japan instead), I am pessimistic about that until a vaccine is developed given the failure here in the US to contain the outbreak. Domestic concerts in the UK are the only possibilities for the medium term.

Since there aren't any M+G after the concerts in the UK for the last 6 years I doubt
it is more likely M+Gs will also be cancelled abroad.
Only signed programs

That's probably the thing that could happen, the dangers brought by the current situation is truly alarming. It had affected every corners of the society and the economy. Well,Libera comes from the Latin word which means "Free",let's hope and pray that someday we shall obtain that one again. Life must go on,these are just uncertain times that we have to face and will soon pass.

We are younger than you think! No M&G in the UK since 2016.

Re: The future of Meet and Greet
My first ever Libera concert was on May, 11th 2013 at Guildford Cathedral.
I don't remember they held a M+G there.
A short time before opening someone came out to sell some signed programs.
I was lucky to purchase a signed program

How come M&G's have been cancelled in UK?

MEET AND GREETS:
SP: There is a great misconception in the fan base about these meet and
greets. What people need to understand is that there are many forces we are
up against. The incident in Norway is of prime interest right now.
C: So you have 28 nervous parents in England right now.
SP: Exactly. [He continued to talk about the horror of the incident] You
must understand that nothing we do in Libera goes ahead of the health and
safety of the boys. That is of prime importance no matter what. [All of us
fans are glad to hear that. We care about them too! I wish I was quick
enough to say that to him but I wasn't.]
SP: Also, English law limits how much public face time the boys can have in
a day and we are still bound by that over here.
C: Last year at Nashville the boys performed at all 3 services in the
morning, then did a full show and an autograph session afterwards.
SP: Yes and we took a LOT of flak for that.
SP: Also, we don't have our own security. As you can see from this concert,
there was no security provided so a M&G is not an option. In St. Louis that
is being provided so it becomes an option.
C: So you think you will have one at St Louis?
SP: Conditions are looking quite favorable for that to occur, but we'll see.
We would like to have one, yes. [This statement is why I put out the post
this morning].
SP: Of course insurance considerations become an issue at times. Also there
must be a suitable location to do it. This facility (Rockefeller Center,
Chicago) has no place to even do one.
[He may have had a few more forces but I just don't remember more. The
important thing here is that nothing he said had anything to do with what
country or city they were in or who was in attendance. It is more about when
those "forces" he mentions can be appeased.]
C: Can I share this information?
SP: [Looking a little surprised at the question] Absolutely, yes, please do!

What happened in Norway?
Re: The future of Meet and Greet
Thanks for the info LordG. That is a shame, it has been a while since I have been to a concert myself but it was nice to be able to tell them how much I enjoyed the concert and walk away with a signed album and program at the end.

This is in reference to an event that occurred in 2011.TullyBascombe wrote: ↑4 years ago What happened in Norway?

Re: The future of Meet and Greet
But that incident had utterly nothing to do with a concert meet and greet, it was directly related to a person with grievances against the political party running the camp.Surpinto wrote: ↑4 years agoThis is in reference to an event that occurred in 2011.TullyBascombe wrote: ↑4 years ago What happened in Norway?

Re: The future of Meet and Greet
Actually, there was a Meet & Greet in 2016 in the UK after their Christmas concert. To me, this decision seemed like they had considered trying UK M&Gs again after the spontaneous M&G in Vallendar that same year, which was so informal and easygoing, but I can't judge it for sure as I was so Libera-young at that time.Prototype wrote: ↑4 years ago Thanks for the info LordG. Re: The future of Meet and Greet
There was an attempt for a M&G since then, I can't remember when exactly... the concert was to take place in St Georges but the church wasn't available in the end, so they moved it on short notice to Westminster. The M&G could have happen in Southwark but not Westminster so it was cancelled. Was it 2018 ? I'm unsure.
