Schola Cantorum - In Paradisum

Recently I received the CD 'In Paradisum' from Schola Cantorum (The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School). I can only say that it is a 'delight for the ear'.
Phenomenal repertoire and great singing.

This choir can certainly compete with the beauty and quality as Libera always performs.

It is a fantastic album which continues to garner praise from the Classical world. The mix of different styles of pieces and the emphasis on providing outstanding solos in some of the pieces is a winner for me.

I lament the fact that at this time of year I would usually be attending their performance of Handel's Messiah, with a superb spread of soloists from all sections of the choir.

The choir that recorded this has some new members who promise to contribute well in the future...

They will perform in Tosca at the ROH in January and there will be an online stream of it. One to bookmark, I feel.

Also on Tuesday they will stream their Christmas Service, which I believe was recorded without public. It should be really good accordingly to their current quality.

Thanks I'll try to watch this... it's hard to keep up with all the festive services being streamed online. It's more the merrier this year due to Covid.

It's really good ! I am glad they often share pieces of music since the beginning of the crisis. They definitely are one of my favorite choirs now.

As this thread has developed into a general Schola Cantorum thread and is not only about "In paradisum" any longer, I think it would be a good idea to rename it in a simple "Schola Cantorum" (or the entire choir name resp.).
